Vital 1st Team Regular
Just picked up in last week's NLP that "Tom Shaw, 31, hung up his boots this week [from Chester] to start a new job as Lead Academy Coach at ...Lincoln City" and "He now sees the opportunity [in the Cowley environment] that will only help his learning"
A midfielder, apparently his playing career included R&D, Tamworth, Kiddi, Cambs U, Alfreton and Chester (where he stepped up for three games after McCarthy was sacked), he has coached in the academies at Forest and Derby, and led the football programme at Nottingham Trent Uni
Good luck to him, good to see a bit more Cowley influence, and it would be great to see some local lads making good. However, I think the challenge for lads to break through into the first team has become even harder this season, with more, bigger value players joining the squad
