If we thought the dipper fans were deluded about the Mané red card (which the club are now appealing btw :013: ) this just takes the biscuit....

"Neil Mellor criticises Manchester City fans over James Milner boos"

Just how fecking short are their memories? These are the people who helped make Raheem Sterling's life a living hell and nowthis ex-dipper has the front to complain about Milner getting boo'd? He clearly hasn't read any of the snidey, low level digs that Mileyneymar has uttered to the media about City since his free transfer as he made an extra effort to ingratiate himself with his new fans.

I had a lot of time for Milner but since he started that crap he is dead to me :033:

I've sent Mr. Mellor this link on the Twitter. That's my good deed for the day.

That was nice of you. I trust you were repaid in kind :-)

I wonder if he actually read it. Would love to know what he thinks about the despicable treatment meted out to Raheem Sterling. Be nice to see what mental gymnastics he can perform to justify the booing, the social media hate campaign, the media witch-hunt portrayal as a mercenary.

Great find BD and a good read, pity the author didn't include that Sterling was booed at every ground. Milner I liked him but then his anti City comments severed all ties as a former blue being welcomed back at City

Likewise. The line that Milner took was unnecessary........unless you either have a chip on your shoulder and/or are simply looking to ingratiate yourself with your new 'fans'.

The viral spreading of the treatment towards Sterling to club's across the country that had zero to do with the transfer was effectively enabled by the media whether it was the ex-dippers embedded in studios failing to condemn it or feeding the view that the lad was a 'snake' by acting so hurt and confused that he wanted to leave 'their' club. They fed the monster.

The comment in the article about how Milner's actions in running down his contract were reported without this editorial judgement was repeated in the simple reporting of his comments. Had Sterling said the identical words they would have been all over him for 'disrespecting Liverpool'

I think one of you two guys pointed out Milner made money from the transfer - but of course he didn't do it for the money he went to a club that won things.

James Milner is an asshole, plain and simple. And worse than that, he's a fake.

Come on now, don't mince words. Tell us what you really think!

I have to say that I lost all respect for Jimmy due to him running down his contract. As far as I'm concerned, he did it deliberately, and invented reasons for not signing to prevent us getting a transfer fee, so that he could get a massive signing-on fee for his new club.

In a nutshell.

Although presumably we won't mind in the slightest if Sanchez runs down his contract at Arsenal and then signs for us for a massive signing on fee - in fact we'd almost encourage it!

Well thought out. He's defo a knob.

KCT, I could care less if we get him. I'd rather use those funds in defense. But, it's different in that we gave Arsenal an out, and they chose not to take it. Plus, Sanchez has made it clear what he wants, Milner wasn't man enough to be honest.

He was about £5million better off signing for Liverpool that summer if reports on what both us and Liverpool were offering were accurate, we were allegedly offering £15,000 a week more but Liverpool gave him a substantial signing on fee.

The player wins. The signing club still pays out but can put the money into higher wages rather than the transfer fee. All the guff and stalling when the contract was running was just disingenuous bullsh*t.

I get your point, as every player has the right to play out their contract, but the difference for me is that Sanchez made it clear with 18 months to go that he had no intention of signing a new deal. The Liverpool left back on the other hand strung us along for 18 months promising to sign a new deal 'if only we would' accede to an ever changing list of demands - "I want more game time!" - "You've played more than 30 games a season" - "Yeah but...I erm, want to play in the middle" said the left back :006:

Of course, we're City fans, the issue isn't with what Milner did per se, it's that he did to us. Couldn't care less if he did to someone else and why should I?

I see Coutinho got a rapturous welcome when he came on as a sub the other night.

I'm confused, didn't he try to do the same thing Sterling did?
