Nazi Uniforms for Halloween

There is a headline in the paper here about a Japanese girl band causing outrage by wearing SS uniforms for Halloween.

A few years ago my favourite ginger, Prince Harry got himself in hot water for the same thing.

It all seems like a load of old nonsense to me. The Nazis are a famous historical group. The people who dress up as them for Halloween aren't making a political statement, they are dressing up for Halloween.

Still, perhaps I'm an insensitive sod.

Do you feel outraged by people who dress up as Nazis for Halloween?

Halloween is about dressing up as scary things and monsters so why not a Nazi?

Just more people getting offended for no real reason and having to whinge about it.

Besides, the Nazi uniform is pretty cool, no one can deny that!

If I was going to dress up as something I'd dress up as a banker, Can't think of any worse than that.
 
Probably a royal doing it was a bit ill advised,albeit there was an over reaction at the time if I remember rightly (maybe including me, really can't remember)

For Halloween? Still not sure why, it's meant to be ghosts and goblins etc surely? But not sure it's that big a deal really.

 
I think there's a bit of a difference; ghosts, monsters, vampires etc don't exist, whereas the Nazis were responsible for the deaths of millions of innocent people. Maybe I'm being over the top but I don't agree with people dressing up as Nazis for fun or as a joke because the things they actually did toa lot of real people were horrific.
 
There are things you just cant do I remember stories of Irish morons on a stag in poland and they allegedly wore Nazi uniforms.

You dont prance around Ireland in Black and Tan uniforms either.
 
Yeah, maybe not an a stag, at least you can kind of justify it at Halloween.

In Dublin one year a mate of mine dressed up as a skinhead at Halloween, rose tattoo and all, I think inspired by This Is England. He was getting dirty looks everywhere and a few aggressive comments, despite the fact he was hanging around with an 80's guy, a 70's cop, The Corpse Bride and Edward Scissorhands.

It's Halloween, not show your off politics night. People need to relax.

 
I don't understand why people dress-up as anything other than something superntural.


 
I don't see why adults dress up full stop. They just look like dick heads.

oops I did but because my kids wanted me to and I was in my own house.

And it's your right to do so, I'm just expressing an opinion, unfortunately I don't rule the cosmos , currently. :17:
Ps doing so to play with your kids is exempt from criticism, in fact it's admirable. Dressing up like Deano does with kids is a different matter. :22:
