Navid Nasseri signs

A strange one. Barely played after signing and yet gets offered a new deal. Hopefully will be ready to be a first team regular and not just be on the periphery like last season.

We'll see. We have to trust SL at this stage. He saw him in training and we didn't.

Did well and stood out in the Mk Dons game and scored our last home goal before the final match v Plymouth. Didn’t do so well in brief appearances after that but looks to have potential and probably cheap.

Still only 21 has time on his side. Possibly a bit of a punt by Lovell .Clearly not all the young players will be a success .But Lovell is no doubt looking from them to push each other .Having a fair amount means of course we are better able to fix up meaningful games for them .Nasseri starts with the same chance as others .If he succeeds great the lad has ability .If by having a proper games for Youth lads to step up too before breaking through means we need a couple more young players like Navid to build a team for the future then .I think Navid could bring a fair bit to the table .

Of the three out of contract January signings, Navid was the only one who stood out as being worth playing time. He's probably deserving of a season to prove himself rather than a handful of minutes here and there.

I think the team building is going well; as yet, we haven't signed an old hand, who could still do a job, although a canny striker might be of use. If we have fullback cover [youngsters?] then any other signing will be a bonus.

Are we still waiting on Byrne and Reilly or have I missed anything lol?

If one or both sign then that we have a good squad. Still hoping for an experienced quality midfielder or striker of course :)

That left footer in midfield is a key player at present we on really have Garmston and Simpson (if he signs ).Unless I have missed anybody .Noticed Mark Marshall is leaving the Valley .Even if we got Reilly someone like that on the left would offer real options .

Marshall is rumoured to be on a large salary at Charlton. He is under contract so buying him would be totally out of the question. But perhaps a loan deal could be just about achievable. We would almost certainly have to wait to see how that one goes .But with Lovell promising the lads are chance keeping money in the bank once the basic side is in place could make a lot of sense .One late star signing of a forward or winger would be a great boost just before the opening games .It would also allow Lovell to keep the door open on everyone in the squad pre season .Which I would say was very much part of the plan .
