Nathan Ake signs

Welcome young Nathan 👍🏻 Hope you settle in quickly and find your feet!

No doubt already the pundits are sharpening their rapier-like intellects and will bang in relentlessly about "being able to play two left footed centre halves in the same team :shake:"

These people know better than Pep, my feeling is that he may use him in a three at the back Laporte, Ake Mendy, , but seriously there are not many players that Pep has failed to improve under his guidance

Sure he will prove to be a very sound signing.

Unsure just where he might end up playing in a Pep line up.

Style of play
Aké has been praised for his versatility, being able to play at both full back, centre back and in defensive midfield, which has been attributed to a good work ethic, professionalism and gifted technique. His calmness on the ball and appearance have led to comparisons to former Dutch legend and Chelsea player Ruud Gullit.[40]

Aké said that even though he has played as a defender in recent seasons, he sees himself as a holding midfielder and that his favourite position is in the midfield..

Interesting, I can see him playing that inverted left back role that Delph and Zinchenko have played, lot of time spent in the midfield in that role. Good agility and pace too for defending counters.

I've a good feeling about this signing.

Pep prizes versatility - he could be a great asset. He also clearly fits the City profile in his personal attributes.

Great that we are moving early......Not least because it seems to be putting the media’s ahead in a spin.
