My Take On The Gary Gardner Link

Absolutely suppose we will never know now whether the injuries have held him back or simply over hyped but I wish him well.

Good luck to him?

Fuck that.

If he goes to Blues he's a prick. I'd rather rot in the reserves or drop a division than play for that shower of shit.

How any true Villa fan could contemplate putting on a Blues shirt... makes me sick.

If it was any other player, fine, no problem with professionals moving to any club, its a job afterall. If it was Tshibola, fine. But a supposed Villa fan?!?

Sick.

Think of it as agent Gardner infiltrating the enemy ...

QPR isnt that far down the M40 Gaz, you know it makes sense. Why on earth would we want to do anything to help out that snivelling lot. All summer their players, directors, even sponsors were on Twitter poking fun at our financial problems. I completely understand it from fans but for the rest of them to be doing it just shows what a classless tinpot outfit they are.

Nah I'm not having that. Think Gabby or Jack would play for them? No chance.

I'm sure he could go somewhere else.

If he was really a passionate Villa fan he just couldn't do it. I know I couldn't.

Like I said, no problem with any other player switching between clubs. Like you say it's a career. But if you're a supposed fan, then there's no way you could do it.

He's obviously not a real Villa fan is he.

Don't forget Ron Saunders crossed the great divide, yet is still regarded as a hero here. Not by me, the traitor. Much more sympathy for Gardner, who's hasn't much going for him here.

Has he ever waxed lyrical about being a fan? He's a player, who supports, maybe if he wasn't a player he'd not have been regularly going to Villa to watch?

Not all are dyed in the wool.

I'm just too zen, I can't be arsed to get upset or angry by such things!

Agree McParland, he won't be moving because he wants to, he'll be moving because he's not been able to break into our first team regularly.

True story I had to drive past the sty on Monday en-route to Heartland Hospital . My car cut out twice within a mile , it's never done it before or since , it must have just sensed the smell and knew it shouldn't be there

Ron Saunders wasn't a Villa fan though.

That's the bit I don't understand.

No problem with employees playing for or managing both, it's just a job to them.

But as a fan, I'm not sure how you could do it.

No problem with him going - he's a professional first and foremost.

I do have an issue with us helping them out with a loan though. Either they buy him or should be told to piss-off. I wouldn't loan them the bus fare (and they probably need it) to get him there for the medical.

Had the misfortune to sit behind the family at Molineux, once. Believe me, they’re ALL sty dwellers. As a footballer, he lacked only one thing - ability. Don’t want him back after loan - take the bugger straight to CashConverters!

Agree he has been a very strange one. He obliviously had talent but for some reason he never cemented himself here. That is made all the more weird considering the fact that we have been pants for quite a long time and at some he point he was surely good enough to get a run in the side. There must be something about his application or attitude that managers don't like.

I think it’s a strange one with him supposedly a fan. Look how much that goal meant to him at the sty, I’d say he’s definitely a fan. I’ve no problem with him going to them as at the end of the day it’s his career and if he isn’t going to get games with us then he needs to go somewhere that he can and he can still live in the area and won’t have to uproot his family etc. We’re all big Villa fans on here but there’s no way you can say you wouldn’t go and play for them until you’re in his position, putting on that shirt is just putting on a new uniform at a new job for him at the end of the day. I’ve lived near the Wast Hills/Trillion Trophy Training Centre most of my life and had they offered me a trial when I was young and playing football I would’ve taken it no questions asked and I’m as big a Villa fan as the rest of you, chance to play professional football at the end of the day.
