My favourite meal is....

Tenderloin, potatoes and carrots cooked over a campfire after a hard days canoeing/portaging into one of our incredible national parks. It is our traditional first meal on our canoe trips.

Spaghetti al Branzino with the fish cooked on wood oven lovely summer on the Amalfi Coast.

2-4 poppadoms with all the dips, Chicken Balti, with special fried rice, Onion Bhaji have to be crispy, 4 of the feckers, stuffed Naan either Keema or Veg and a few pints of Kingfisher or Cobra. JD.

there are so many fantastic meals, as have been written above, but also what about the really simple things such as strong cheddar on fresh bread? Food of the gods! Also what about a great full English?

My favourite meal is.... UNBURNT Food.

Her indoors has a bit of a rep when it comes to 'Roasting'. I bought her a new kitchen timer, a smoke alarm which works quite well and things have improved but haven't yet reached their summit. I feel quite fortunate really, the dog likes crunchy food, it's like his bone.

But seriously, when we eat out? Probably Indian. These days, I'm rather changing my ideas about Indian food. I've been ordering multiple starters and forgoing the main course after tasting many of the absolutely delicious starters that there are available. Example stuffed pepper (green pepper stuffed with really succulent chicken - amazing!) A good selection of things like, onion Bhajis (not your commonal garden variety, the delicately cooked, crispy type with various dips and salad), Koftas, meat stuffed naan bread, pappadums with their various dips and salads etc. I really like the extraordinary variety of tastes which also don't leave me feeling stuffed and are quite good 'food value'. Money-wise too I find Indian food good value.

When in Uganda - 'Beef Muchomo' (Fried diced beef with small amounts of tomato, cabbage, carrot, onion mixed in with their own grown rice and mingled with the juice from the beef). 'Has a flavour that I haven't tasted elsewhere, it's not spicy or heavily flavoured but just uses the natural flavours in a good balance. DE-LISH!

There is a really nice turkish restaurant in Camden that from the front looks like your run-of-the-mill kebab house, but if you dine in and look through their full menu its amazing. Its got a generically crap name too (the town grill) but its a hidden little gem if you're fancying selection of grilled meats, humous and the like!

Oh, the take away option after a night on the lash is also a winner ;-)

I love a good slow roasted leg of lamb. Bit of mash and some veg. A nice ale on the side to wash it down. lovely!

Not after that British Heart foundation Fabrice Muamba advert thank you very much. Ended my love affair the full English for good.

Lamb chops, baby potatoes, sweet peas, corn & juicy tender carrots with a glass of chardonnay, swiftly followed by some Bread & butter pudding.

Anything Italian for takeaways. Ham & Mushroom Tagliatelli is a particular favourite, with a cheap bottle of Chianti of course. The cheaper the better lol.

Grilled trout with asparagus and wild rice followed by caramel cheesecake.

Winter : stew and dumplings, beef or lamb both excellent.
Summer : steak, oven baked jacket potato, salad with loads of peppers, tomatoes and onions.

Any seafood...

....but if pushed my favourite would still be fresh live plump juicy tasty Welsh mussels from Anglesea (the best in Europe) in a slightly sharp but almost fruity Bolney estate white wine sauce with some chopped somerset wild spring onions, shallots and fresh oak smoked Garlic from the Isle of wight ...accompanied by your favourite home cooked crusty brown bread for dipping...

...and of course the fantastic Bolney wine that's left to wash it down with...
