Hmmmm ... Ginger stuff ok ... everything else feels like it should be funny, but it barely raised smiles. The stuff about his daughter was ok.

Mark Thomas was much better at being the angry young man.
 
A classic example ... aside form the obvious bit where he's a little misleading in how he portrays the two parties (zero resignations from Labour compared to just a teeny bit more integrity from Labour ... even if it would admittedly have been better if the resignations hadn't been required !) he just doesn't manage to turn it into comedy. His delivery is fucking awful.

In my opinion of course.

Pretty funny to me. Nail meeting head springs to mind.
 
Nail meeting head has nowt to do with it. Even if I agreed with exactly what he says (which I don't), it's still not funny, cos he simply doesn't make it funny.

Of course, this then gives him the excuse of being "cancelled" ... when it's probably more likely that others find him just as unfunny.

Perhaps this should be on the two tier thread given the continued incompetence of the government, though the discussion is on this. Not quite a full turn but Labour being shamed into taking action on the child rape gangs. Sadly I fear today’s announcement is just smoke and mirrors to fool the electorate. It won’t wash, it’s totally inadequate.

These local inquiry’s won’t have the necessary legal power to compel witness to attend and give evidence under oath nor requisition written evidence. Effectively those running it will be banging their head against the wall and was why the Chair of the Manchester one resigned.

I also don’t understand why so few towns are being investigated. Several Labour MPs and even Burnham have broken ranks to demand a national inquiry. Are they on a far right bandwagon? Again today’s half measures leads me to wonder what Labour are trying to hide. There will be no let up until there is one.

I’m not surprised you don’t understand the nuance.

Child abuse takes many forms, not all of it sexual. It’s undoubtedly important and should be a priority, but a specific element of child abuse, organised rape of children in towns across the land is something that has never been investigated by way of a national inquiry. It’s vitally important there is one because this deflection and cover up has gone on too long.

Everyone wants it ‘fixed’. But you need to understand the why it’s happened/happening, how it’s happening, is this organised , who is responsible, how and why it was covered up, how and why Police, Social Services, Schools, Councils have allowed this to happen - in so many different locations. What do these areas have in common? Why hasn’t it been stopped? What are the triggers? Is sentencing insufficient, are offenders being deported where appropriate? What support is being offered to victims?

I could go on. It’s a national scandal and one which requires a national inquiry to compel witnesses to give evidence not a couple of half arsed local investigations that have little power and effectively sallow people to mark their own homework.

The world is a wonderful and marvellous place. Nature never ceases to amaze. Some creatures can change their gender. In other creatures, the male gives birth. It's even been found that virgin births have occurred in more than one species.

I don't know what makes people homosexual, but obviously, something does ... and it's been happening for hundreds of years.

I've no idea what it must feel like to be the "wrong gender", but it must be awful.

Treating people with a little respect is the least we can do.

I don’t think anyone is saying people shouldn’t be treated with respect. Live and let live, but biology is biology and pretending otherwise to embrace the lefts ideology nonsense is just wrong. I mean we have a Foreign Secretary who thinks men can grow a cervix or have one implanted. A PM who doesn’t know what a woman is. It’s nuts. Amazed we live in a time when it requires a US President to confirm the material reality of sex.
