Vital Football Legend
These tweets are worrying in so many ways.

Notwithstanding his demonstration of his own ignorance, his attempts to incite action in the UK would normally be seen as the utterings of a strange, troubled autocrat, but with his (unelected) position of power within the heart of US power base, it's quite frightening how he might continue to exert influence and ideas.

As for the accusations toward Starmer, though Nazir Afzal so eloquently and succinctly showed up his allegations for the nonsense it was, that unfortunately won't stop people believing it.

Not joking he’s a very powerful man.plus very rich.
He's certainly very rich. I suppose he's also quite powerful ... in his Trump sidekick position.

However, my response was to neither of those points. It was to your suggestion that we should (effectively) kow-tow to him.

I hope that Jess Phillips sues the fucking arse off him.

Not a chance of that happening.

I guess it's one way to deflect from last weeks furore that he loves cheap, immigrant labour, while many Trump supporters despise them.

Its certainly going to be funny after inauguration when he and Trump come to blows over something that, in the scheme of things, will be petty.

It’s funny most things he posts ends up on our main news channels So he definitely gets attention. Dangerous and powerful man. The special relationship will certainly get tested.

It's because what he posts is absolutely batshit crazy !!!

Glad to see you've now replaced your previous suggestion that we cuddle up to him with a more accurate assessment that he's bloody dangerous.

For someone in his position, to respond like this is nothing more than an utter disgrace.

Probably the problem is everyone is responding to his posts. That includes the BBC.
He’s loving it. We are becoming. His new play thing.
Richest man in the world obsessed. With the U.K. if we stop biting. He will stop. And on the 20 th Jan he will be come even more powerful.

Don't talk daft. What he's posting is absolutely disgraceful. When he posts what he does (some of it despicable) why on earth should it be ignored? ... to placate him?

We should have fuck all to do with him. He's a butty short of a picnic. As for his power ... he'll soon fall out with Trump as soon as Trump suspects Musk s getting better press than he is (the cracks are already there) and then he's back to being a weird, slightly eccentric billionaire, with an unbelievable think skin.

It will be interesting to hear what the leaders of the Tory party think about some of his posts.

I refrained commenting on this thread as the opening post seemed to be inviting debate on the child rape gangs and it’s such an important issue I didn’t wish to politicise it. Then again the follow could easily go on the two tier thread.

Musk commented as recently released court transcripts shed daylight on the despicable racist gang rapes. I won’t post the content but no normal human could not have been left sick to their stomach. They have occurred in over 50 British towns and the concerted efforts to cover it up has gone on too long. Whilst it’s an extremely uncomfortable topic for Labour as the cover up started under their watch and occurred in Labour controlled council areas the Conservatives have also failed in their duty whilst in office over this scandal. However we now have Labour MPs in office who helped cover this up, who serve on Home Office select committee’s overseeing this. If this isn’t ringing alarm bells it should.

The call for a national enquiry was made by Oldham Council, not just a lone councillor and there should be one to effectively join the dots. Jess Philips in opposition used this as a political football, pontificating at every opportunity. Now given her brief she wants nothing to do with it. Literally the worst kind of politician. Musk was wrong, she shouldn’t be jailed as she hasn’t committed offences, but she is not fit to be in government. His other personal remarks were not necessary needed either. She’s a big gob but has been found wanting.

As I said I refrained from commenting as I thought it possible two tier may finally show some leadership and do the decent thing. Wishful thinking. Instead he seemed more concerned about Musks comments toward Phillips than the actual issue that prompted them in the first place. Deflection pure and simple.

However to go on and brand those demanding action as jumping on a far right bandwagon is beyond the pale. He has no place running this country with his continuing divisive comments and unwillingness to tackle difficult issues to protect votes. If he wishes to label those concerned about the gang rape of children as far right that’s his prerogative, but he shouldn’t be surprised when his internationally condemned for it. Calling people racist in first place for speaking out just allowed the problem to carry on yet here is again doing the exact same thing. If he really thinks the criticism including against himself whilst at the cps is lies and misinformation as he claims then he should have no qualms ordering this national inquiry to set the record straight. He won’t and we know why.

Oh and for the record I agree with Musk when he says Starmer is despicable. And that’s being polite.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am that you seem to have taken Musk's despicable bait so easily.

We'll leave it at that ... there's no point us falling out over this. That's exactly what the like of Musk would want.

Like the Trump derangement syndrome you suffer from it appears you are now fixated on this man.

He’s clearly got under the skin of this idiot running the government, don’t let him get under yours.

My point was not about Musk, I’ve already said his comments were unnecessary. My post was about the decades long cover up by politicians, police, social services and other institutions of grotesque crimes, the fine details of which have only just seen daylight. I hoped the Prime Minister would actually do something prime ministerial and announce a long awaited and much needed public inquiry but i should have known better. Instead we got the standard response of smear to try and brush it under the carpet once more and deflection with some hysteria over an American billionaire which you have fallen for hook, line and sinker. I am disappointed on so many levels.

The way I see it, being disgusted and and deeply saddened that Trump is being allowed to take up a second term in the White House is not derangement, but simple common sense.

Musks's posts would be out of order for a poster on here ... never mind a senior aide to the President elect of the US.

Notwithstanding the years of cover up, Nazir Afzal's complete demolition of any allegations toward Starmer needs no further support from me.

Daleks ... that's the Independent enquiry, the recommendations from which weren't delivered by the previous government, but are going to be now.

Lest we forget ...
