Ederson - vital save on the stroke of half time; Fernandinho for all the ‘water carrying’ that he does which keeps us solid; and Silva for showing his experience in game management as the clock wound down (plus his skills on the ball ;-))

Went for Eddy. who is brave and gives the back four that confidence to play the ball short around him, David Silva, in and out all over the place, he just manages to hold the ball wait for that gap and what a fabulous player he has been all these years for us. Sane just gets better, not the finished article but if we can manage to keep hold of Pep for a few more years we will retain these players and wow the future is bright

Pep vindicated regarding Hart - absolutely no way Joe Hart would have been able to play out some of the passes we saw Ederson produce today. Never in a million years would Joe have been able or confident enough to complete them - some of them were worthy of a midfielder :001:

Well what a good all-round team performance. I thought Merlin was outstanding and he is my MOM. Look at his opposite Ozil, should have been sent off for barging over Delph and as always in the big games he went missing in action.

JK- agree entirely re Ozil. No attempt to play the ball- tried to injure a fellow player out of spite. This Arsenal team is in a bad space. Awful manager, no money and players who don't want to be there.

Silva ran them ragged today and was best on ground by a mile. UK press are giving them a free pass. 6 bookings and a manager who defames a player on SkyTV. Shearer is the only pundit i can find that is telling Wenger to apologise to RS.

^ I expect Wenger to be fined in particular re the Sterling comments on his none dive. Still have a low regard for Sky pundits who are just waiting for us to slip up in the cooler weather.

Well said John, I can't remember when any other team was top of the league and the topic on conversation was how do you stop them.

Martin Keown though did say, the hearts and minds of the neutral are with manchester City, simply because of the way they play and I love to watch them...... Thank you Martin, me too.

I am not convinced any action will be taken against Wenger. The FA would deal with him had he called any of the officials cheats but I am not sure if there is any mechanism in place to deal with him for his comments about a player. Sterling could well be in his right though, I suggest, to consult lawyers as Wenger's comments were defamatory and slanderous - I am sure he could press a case for reputational damage which could affect his earnings with sponsors etc.

As far as pundits are concerned - I notice that all those who quick to declare last season that Pep had only secured success at Barcelona and Bayern Munich purely because of the calibre of player he "inherited" at each club have been very slow to re-engage on the topic after his current side appear to be performing above expectation.

None of it, apparently, was anything to do with his coaching ability.

Old Ray has a pop at Wenger for picking the wrong team. Sadly, the FA will take no action for his defaming of Sterling by Wenger.

Fernandinho was the anchor again plus Silva and Sane for plotting and planning.
Stones has improved beyond belief almost and Ederson was great.
