My MotM was Son. A goal and 2 assists but there were many good performances.

Vicario 6.5 - a couple of sloppy moments
Pedro Porro 8.5 - excellent all afternoon
Romero 6.5 - couple of sloppy moments again, but mostly good
Van de Ven 7.5 - was excellent until he left the pitch
Udogie 8.5 - almost back to full beast mode
Sarr 8 - our best midfielder, what a cross
Bissouma 8 - created the platform for others
Kulusevski 8 - superb second half, but not so effective in the 1st half
Maddison 8 - normal classy self
Johnson 8.5 - work rate and output was excellent
Son 8 - did the main thing he gets paid for, goals and assists

Dragusin 7.5 - slotted in fantastically and owned the LCB space
Bentancur 7 - classy on the ball and nice to see him in cameo mode.

Ange 8 - better from Ange. He made a good call with Sarr for Bents, whilst rotated well with BJ for Werner. We weren't completely defensively safe, but we looked a little tighter.

The team 8.5 - to a man, they all looked up for it today. We need that every week.

Great result which we have to build from and take the opportunity that we have now created for ourselves.
Good that we have decent options from the bench, makes such a positive difference
 
Man of the Match was difficult , so many good performances .BJ , Udogie , VDV , Romero , but I went for Son .

Bentancur - 8 loved seeing him turning out of trouble , and kicking Cash
Werner -7. Hope he proves me wrong . Looking very good .
Hojbjerg - 7 had a good game when he came on .

MotM - Udogie. It would probably have been VdV if he had stayed on the field for the full 90 minutes playing the way he was.

V Aston Villa

Vicario - 7 Had little to do. Did what was necessary very effectively.
Pedro Porro - 7.5. Good to have his energy and right side support back!
Romero - 7. Couple of mistakes that could have been crucial. Otherwise solid as a rock
Van de Ven - 7.5 usual solid performance. His pace and positional sense is invaluable.
Udogie - 9 He was everywhere. Energetic, direct, pacy and an excellent performance. My MOM.
Sarr - 8.5 Immaculate, energetic, kept the ball moving quickly all topped off by a brilliant assist. He is some excellent buy!
Bissouma - 7.5. Best performance for ages. Solid cover, kept the ball moving and was available when needed.
Kulusevski - 8 Tireless worker. Always a pain in the backside of Villa. His tenacity after good work from Hojberg creates Son’s goal.
Maddison - 8. Still played a bit too deep at times. Was most dangerous when more advanced. Well taken goal.
Johnson - 8.5 Nearly my MOM. He gave Cash a real problem all afternoon. Great pace, great control and a well taken goal. More please Brennan.
Son - 7 A lot of closing down and a fair effort today. Took his goal well and set up Timo well.

Dragusin - 7.5. The sibstiution was seamless. His defensive strength was very evident. As a first proper contribution it was good.
Bentancur - 7 Slowly getting it back together.
Werner - 7 Score of 7 because of his goal. Did little else in his short cameo.
Hojbjerg - 7 He was. Amazing,y dynamic in his short time on the pitch. Seems to have upped his pace!

Ange - 8 very happy with team and substitutions.
The team - 8 a very good confident team performance.
 
Gary aplogies, all I could see were the highlights, but damn all our goals were really damn great to watch!

I did go ahead and give my MoM to Kulu. He looked like he put in a very workman like performance and was critical in the buildup of three of our goals and had the assist directly in the Son goal. Kind of seemed like that guy that won't get the recognition...but at least those three goals would not have happened without him.

Good all round performance, by all players, away from home, for me the midfield won the war today, shaping up against a, tough Villa line up. It was hard to predict a, MOTM as argument could be made for several and I think I've been conservative in my scoring today..
