More financial problems for some clubs...

Some bloke rang Radio Sheffield yesterday seriously suggesting a statue for Bannan. They talk about him as if he is Messi. Another example of the (© Guy) puddingheadedness of their supporters. Yes he has been there eleven seasons and fair play to him he is a decent player and by all accounts a decent human being. But all of those seasons have been spent in the Championship and League One. He has been earning big money (part of the reason they are in such a mess) at those levels. And as a player he hasn’t been all that. I’ve always thought that he was too comfortable sitting deep and coasting through games and his goal return of 35 in 450 games is quite poor for a midfield genius. Those are personal opinions. But let’s face it he doesn’t get close to some of the players of yesteryear who have graced S6 playing at the top level. It all I think shows how far they have fallen that they are making such a Massive deal of it. Ok, give him a decent send off like they did after the game yesterday. But a statue? Really?

Over at SWFC, they are due to pay another £500 000 transfer instalment to Troyes for their non-scoring striker Ugbo, who is currently out injured. Don't know how many instalments are left, but he is reportedly ((OwlsTalk) on £20000 per week and has two years left on his contract!

I doubt he's on £20k per week but you never know.
Ugbo was a hero when he was on loan at S6. Good scoring record.Now it seems he can't hit a Barn door and a large section of their fan base don't like or want him at the club.
No idea what's gone wrong because you just don't become a non- scoring crap striker as quickly as he has.
MH should bring him in on loan and offer to pay 1% of his wages.....lol.
Ugbo with the right club and right manager will score goals in League 1.
They need to offload him quickly back to a club abroad if he is on £20k per week.
Undisclosed fee they paid but some on Owls Talk claim over £2m paid for him.
Mind you it sounds like they haven't actually paid for him yet....

The Owls site summed up their fans' attitude when they signed him;

Premier League website - An Independent Commission has recommended that Leicester City should be deducted an immediate six points for breaking Profit & Sustainability rules in the 2023-24 season.

Update 5.35 pm (BBC Footballl website) : the EFL has now docked Leicester City six points.

Speculation on Owlstalk now about the likelyhood of a 15 point deduction for next season . Also speculation that the Bord consortium has lost the £4 million that they put down as a deposit as part of the original takeover offer! Also allegations that Bord had been tipped off that he wouldn't pass the "Fit & Proper" financial tests.
