Modern Headlights are blinding drivers

Miserable Sod
The RAC says they have conducted a survey, and two thirds of those asked said that they are blinded by oncoming headlights.

Does anyone agree?

I agree, as well. Maybe it is age, but I never used to notice. It is definitely the newer cars, with the LED lights.

Definitely not age IMO I am 28 but they blind me and they did as a kid too. I will concede I've long suspected I've a sensitively to light but nothing abnormal just a slight issue.

It could just be the colour of the light, even, not the intensity.

LED bulbs are much whiter than older ones, that were more yellow.

The report Mike posted says the UN are looking at the issue, so this is not an insignificant problem.

I have found that if I make myself look at the curb to the left, I can maintain my speed, but if I look straight ahead, I have to slow down to ensure I can see the road ahead in time.

Luckily, I don't have to do much night driving these days, but I do feel for those that do.

If anyone ended up with a wayward warning earlier - completely ignore it folks, I was playing and I didn't get the intended outcome lol

In relation to thread, much like JPA and CDX I thought it was just me and assumed I was dumb enough to stare for a fraction of a second rather than avert eyes. Not driving though, I don't have much to lean on when it comes to a difference between bulb and LED.

lol JPA... very good.

Yeah, they are much brighter. I suppose in some ways that safer as they do light up the road!

My car has this new(ish) feature where you put the auto full beam on and when there are no other lights etc, they just come on. Great for the country lanes

Same as JPA says, I do sometimes think an oncoming driver has their full beams on when they don't.
