It's pretty basic stuff, they will create machine learning models to predict the probability of an individual committing a crime, using data on criminal history and anything else they have (medical records, employment history, information on current residence) as predictors.

There's nothing fancy about this. But what is alarming is the use of the data of innocent people who have not committed crimes. If you're on the police national computer then you are probably in scope for this. You can be on this if you simply report a crime. I find this entirely objectional.

Reading around they are already doing it for probation reports etc anyway and have been for years, this is just a slightly bigger waste of money using AI 'improvements'.
