Millwall v Villa, Sun 6th May @ 12.30pm

Nothing to play for, rest a few, doesn't matter if we win, lose or draw?

I'm a bit 'meh' about this game - a dead rubber. I just want to get on with the play-off action now!

2-1 Villa - Millwall will be completely deflated by their failure at the last hurdle. Unless of course results go their way and they manage to overturn a 9-goal deficit to sneak into 6th ahead of Derby. Which is clearly not going to happen.

Yes , it's a tricky one. Do we keep our recent momentum going or rest a few ?

I am going to this . Wish me luck !!!

This is just the type of game that Bruce will be hammered about no matter what he does.

If he goes strong he'll be hammered for risking players.

If he goes weak, he'll be hammered for losing momentum.

As an aside, isn't there a rule that states 10 outfield players must be from the same squad from the previous week, so he couldn't make wholesale changes. Not sure that really effects us, as we don't really have 6 kids to bring in anyway.

I'd imagine Johnstone plays. Chester will play as he'll be wanting to complete every minute of every game. Grabban will play as he tries to seal the golden boot. Onomah will play, as will Lansbury. Grealish won't be risked, and probably Terry and Snoddy too.

Johnstone

Elmo
Chester
Samba
Hutton

Whelan
Onomah
Lansbury
Hourihane
Adomah

Grabban

Bree, Hogan and O'Hare on for Hutton, Adomah and Grabban after 60 minutes.

Sorted.

It will probably be a slightly curve ball selection ala Ipswich. There's a few to get up to fitness and I don't envisage anyone unlikely to be involved in the play-off to be involved (O'Hare, Davis, Green, etc).

Johnstone
Bree Chester Terry Hutton
Lansbury Jedinak
Adomah Onomah Grabban
Hogan
Subs: Bunn, Elmohamady, Whelan, Bjarnasson, Snodgrass, Grealish, Kodjia

Not necessarily what I would pick but I think it could be along those lines.

I was so excited for this at the start of the season (easiest ground for me to get to), instead I'm now on a stag do!

If Bruce knows his starting line up for the play offs then I would say he needs to rest as many players as the rules allow.
Wrapped in cotton wool for the play off players include: Grabban, Chester, Terry, Super Jack, Snoddy, Hutton (especially after it being confirmed on Saturday that Taylor really is appalling).

If somehow we lose momentum after such a 'nothing' game (although no villa games are nothing in my mind but you get my drift) then I would question our desire and professionalism to take the play offs by the scruff of the neck.

Yes it's a tricky balancing act.

Lucky that we have such an experienced manager at the helm who has been through all this stuff before.

It is probably not the right attitude but I really dont give a monkeys about this.

We will (well we should) play a total reserve team, and Millwall wont exactly bust a gut

We wont be on the telly and i even doubt we will be on WM fm as the Blues will so i cant listen to it where i live (just about get crackly fm).

In fact, my mate is playing at a local pub - and i think i msy go watch him and keep an eye on the scores on my phone.

Will see how I feel on the day.

1-1 draw with Lansbury getting ours

Yeah, rest a few, play Terry and Kodjia but we don't want to lose. I'm going for a 1-1 at this stage of the week until we have some idea who exactly is being rested etc.

May be an opportunity for a cameo appearance from a youngster or two if it's going well with twenty minutes to go.

Think the U23s have enough on their plates. Don't think we'll see them, except maybe Davis.

Yes, they are rather busy aren't they. Tonight they are at home against Reading in the play off to see who faces Brighton for promotion. Then on Friday they play Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in the Premier League Cup Final.

Davis and Green both came off after 55 mins for the u23's tonight , they might be involved at Millwall but they might have come off because the were both pretty shite tonight
