Alert Team
Once again Millwall FC fans have been involved in violence and one has to wonder WTF the football authorities are doing about it.

Millwall clearly have form in this regard as this subsequent report from the following season makes clear when the fans of six clubs were prevented from attending The New Den.

This relates to City's fixtures against the club in 2001/02 season when both clubs reached an agreement to ban away supporters.

The common denominator in all these incidents appears quite clear and obvious which makes the football authorities inability or unwillingness to actually hold the club to account all the more baffling.

Ludicrous attempt by the Millwall Chief Exec Steve Kavanaugh, to deflect criticism. Basically claiming the response was "out of proportion".

"I have to remember the core support of the club, the vast majority, are outraged by what has gone on here and that is what makes me sad in the attack that is going on,. Is (it) that these people aren't educated and they just don't understand? Millwall Football Club cannot be responsible for educating the whole of south east London and this group of people."

Pretty poor response if you ask me. That's like a dog whistle to the hooligans that have followed this club for decades.

The authorities need to get a grip and impose some serious sanctions

His response reminds me of the playground when a kid, pulled up by the teacher on duty for a misdemeanour, will point at another kid and say “he does it too!”.
