That's interesting. I see we have got Arvin Appiah's brother Alvin as a replacement :throw:. The Ayala omission means he probably won't appear again so someone else will have to get the crazy red cards for us. Bringing in Gordon as our 'homegrown player' I assume may mean we actually intend to play Durose?
[Edit] Not sure my Durose comment makes sense. CD could have been our HGP and still played so not sure what it means. At one time (not sure if still applies) National League clubs could loan players in at any time of the season. If so it might suggest CD is soon to be loaned out again?

Don't really know who Owain Gordon is! Never seen him play. Anybody know which position he plays in?

I think that Durose can still go out on loan to a National League club (or below). He wasn't getting much game time at Scarboro' anyway. He's still under 21 y.o.

Surprised that Grant Hall has been named in the squad, as no date seems to have been set for his likely recovery.

We have probably wasted a fotune on Ayala - bad decision from Matt Taylor

I find football and particularly the financial aspects and the implications of FFP quite baffling. Someone explained to me that RUFC could not spend another penny on transfers without breaking FFP limits. I had no idea if this was true or not. Someone else in the same discussion said that if we are relegated and spend 5 years in L1 the revenue loss would be in the region of £60m and we should have spent £5m in January to try and stay up. The bloke who had said we couldn't spend another penny agreed! I'm sure football used to be a lot simpler when I was a lad.

We didn't have forums or social media. A group of us - about 4 or 5 regulars - would talk about games at school and later in the pub. We had no real idea of what other fans thought. The owner was just a name. Transfers were rarely discussed until someone was either signed or sold.
