Millers injury news 2026/27

I am very pleased to have another positive poster join us! Welcome!
Oh Dear, Sixpence. 'Positive poster' my arse. This guy is a plant. His purpose is to stifle criticism of RUFC. The tactic is to get well-meaning people like you to get 'negative' influencers like me to the gibbet. That achieved and he disappears for good. I must have read fifty posts on 3 Millers sites over the years saying 'if only these negative posters stopped loads of people would flood in.'
It's bollox. But you know what. It's worked. Because I'm sick of the 'positive poster' crap. I'm only sorry for Caz because I've tried to help her with this site. She deserves it. But I'm done. Gone for good. let's see how long lover boy contributes to the site.

There’s no doubt that for a long time now we have been plagued by injuries to an extent not seen at many other clubs. Successive managers and the hierarchy have acknowledged it. It’s a problem. What is more, I’ve lost count of the number of times players have come back from injury and lasted less than a handful of games before going down again.

Mr Lindum, sorry to disappoint you I am no plant, just someone voicing my point of view, for what it's worth.

I thought you were not a fan of speech marks but you have made good use of them in this case and they are really useful aren't they?

Hanging was abolished in the 60's so have no fear of being led to the gibbet and anyway it's not my intention to lead you anywhere and especially not away from the forum.

I think it would be better to encourage more posters to the forum not lose the ones already here, even if I will seldom agree with them.

I don't honestly believe that my posts will influence your views and I wouldn't deem to think so. Having read hundreds of your posts it's clear to me you have strong opinions that are very unlikely to change.

If your intention really is to walk away, please don't use me as the excuse because only you can make that decision.

I hope that you will reconsider your decision, Lindum. The facts - we are now getting towards the bottom of L2 (the old 4th Division). That's one of the lowest points in our Football League history. I'm not interested in pretending that everything is ok - it obviously isn't. The number of shots that we have on target in a typical game remains very low - that's poor entertainment for fans. I don't particularly blame AB, but the reality is we have won just ONE game this season. I hope that he can improve things, including management of injuries, and future recruitment. Only time will tell.

To get back on topic.

I thought it would be interesting to see how our local rivals and fellow League 2 clubs are faring regarding injuries when their teams were announced an hour before their kick offs.

Rotherham United. 6 missing - L Agbaire, H Douglas, H Duncan, K Spence, J Jellis, M Kaleta.

Sheffield Wednesday 10 missing - L Barry, D Bernard, G Brown, H Gray, J Liongola, M Lowe, C McGee,T Onyango, R Santos, S Swinkels.

Sheffield United 4 missing - H Burrowes, T Chong, R One, F Sariki

Barnsley 3 missing - C Slicker, I Smith, V Yoganathan

Chesterfield 5 missing - W Dickson, D Duffy, Z Hemming, T Pearce, R Satiriou.

Doncaster Rovers 5 missing - J Collins, M Pearson, T Nixon, J Sterry, F Okoronkwo

Rochdale 8 missing
Gillingham 8 missing
Grimsby 7 missing
York 7 missing
Northampton 6 missing
Walsall 5 missing
Swindon 5 missing.

The rest averaged 3 missing overall.

Make of that what you will but how much is down to bad luck or bad planning is open to question.

Interesting post for comparison - one minor correction, Millers only have 5 injuries - Douglas is fit but can't make the 18 at the moment.

My apologies it was taken from the FlashScore site, interestingly they had not included Spence so they actually did have 5 listed, it was me that made it 6.

Oh Lindum, you and I have agreed to disagree and both continued to post for a long time. How boring it would be if we all held the same views!
Your constant negativity saddens me and my constant positivity irritates you but the world won't change for either of us so we just keep plodding along. Hope you reconsider and continue posting on here.

Lindum,

Keep posting please. You once described yourself as an old cynic (I think) and that self acknowledgement makes me want to read what you have to say, because it's obvious your views are considered and genuine. So please don't stop your contributions to the forum.

Keep the faith, UTM.

I really think that everyone has a right to their own opinion.

Do I always agree with everyone - no I don't. But that's what forums are for - we rub along nicely which isn't everyone's cup of tea I know.

The only thing I ask from any new poster is I hope they do not to have anything to do with a facebook group who seem actively trying to fetch the club down.

I just want to make it clear that I agree with everything you have said in the first 2 paragraphs, it's not my intention to aggrivate anyone who posts on here.
If I've upset anyone so far with any of my posts, I apologise.
It was not my intention to hurt anyone's feelings just offering an alternative point of view.

Regarding the 3rd paragraph I have no time for people who want to bring the club down.
I would hope that if you call yourself a Rotherham United fan you must want nothing but the best for the club.

My personal opinion is footballers these days are too muscle bound and / or don’t warm up enough prior to a game. Doesn’t take much to stretch for the ball and end up with a Hamstring injury. High intensity game these days and players are on the go chasing the ball at times and it’s easy to suffer a calf strain which then turns into something worse, a muscle tear etc.
A bit more quality in the side could well mean we hang onto the ball more and do less chasing for big parts of the game. Unfortunately it costs for extra quality.

Rotherham Advertiser website - post-match interview with AB... Ossama Ashley isn't injured. He was substituted because he is still not it enough to last a full game.

14/09/26

Rotherham Advertiser website - Rafferty has hurt his back in training and should only take a few days to recover. A couple of other "few days to recover" cases, Jellis and Spence, will miss the trip to Northampton.

I think they’ve got some work to do to catch Kaleta and Agbaire, who don’t seem to be able to string consecutive appearances together without breaking down.

18/09/26

Rotherham Advertiser website - Spence may be back in the match squad tomorrow... but he might not be. Jellis is behind Spence in his recovery schedule. No news on Rafferty.

Update 3pm - Rafferty is back in training, and may be in tomorrow's squad.
