Interview with Alex Bruce on RUFC Official website - A late decision to leave Rafferty out of the squad for the Emley game was made because he had a "tight groin". i.e. he was left out as a precaution. No problems relating to the recent surgery on his hand.

Spence. Kaleta, Nombe, Hall and Martha were missing last night - reasons unknown.

Rotherham Advertiser - Denzel Hall had a minor hamstring problem just before the Emley game , so was not risked. Harrison Duncan had a similar problem, but is expected to sign a new Millers contract soon. Nothing about the others mentioned in the previous post.

Hope these are not the same 'minor hamstring problems' and 'precautions' that under previous managers saw players out for weeks or months.

Rotherham Advertiser website - Douglas (Achilles problem) could be back tomorrow... or possibly not. Hall (hamstring) and Rafferty (groin) will probably be back next week.
It all sounds very familiar... Tomorrow never comes... See post #3...
 
Alex Bruce said after the game on Saturday that any injuries were minor niggles and that the players concerned were rested because there was no point taking risks at this stage. That makes sense if it’s true, and I’ve got no reason to think it isn’t. Having said that, I’m not sure we have the full complement of medical staff at the club yet which is a further concern.
 
It has been reported that last season , one of our main physios wasn't available for match days! Great money-saving idea by TS ! We must have had the worst injury record in the League.

"We will learn from our mistakes"?

Rotherham Advertiser website - interview with AB... they are not injured, but Nemane and Ashley are still getting up to full speed after lack of game time. Nothing about Douglas and Duncan, whose injury "niggles" seem to be dragging on, and were not in our depleted squad yesterday. Hall and Rafferty played yesterday.

I did say a while back RUFC 'niggles' have a habit of sidelining players for weeks or longer.

RUFC Official Twitter - Hamish Douglas was doing some training exercises today at Roundwood , with Paul Mullin. Couldn't see exactly what they were doing - just looked like running /fairly light training. No sign of Harrison Duncan. (Clip on RUFC Official Twitter).

Caller to Radio Sheffield said that Hamish Douglas will be out until October. Although the caller is a bit eccentric, he's usually accurate on medical matters regarding the Millers. Nothing about Harrison Duncan.

Complete guess here. Sounds like Achilles injury for Hamish. Not a ruptured Achilles because he would be out till January. Possibly Tendonitis which is why the club used the word “ niggle “ injury.
I thought Harrison Duncan injury was Hamstring related but could well be wrong. No good rushing them back to suffer a recurrence of the same injury.
Shame really because I was looking forward to seeing both players as part of the match day squad this season although Harrison may have been sent out on loan. Good luck and quick recovery for both players .

I assumed we didn't go because we had hardly anyone to take. But we may have been saving money?

No it won’t have been down to money. I wasn’t suggesting it was.
We’ve had a clear out of players, Managers, Physiotherapists, Dolly the Tea Lady and Uncle Tom Cobbley.
Took longer than I expected although I had been supportive of Lee Clark.
Recruitment so far has been fine so far. Not ideal and Alex Bruce won’t have too much control over everything but I’m sure he has some input at times.
We will be competitive this season but so will the rest of league 2.

Rotherham Advertiser website - Hamish Douglas is "closing in on a comeback". He's back training with main squad, but probably won't feature tomorrow.

Tom Bradshaw is not up to full-speed in training yet, and may not be ready in time to play tomorrow.

No mention of Harrison Duncan.
