Millers injury news 2025/26

01/10/25

Rotherham Advertiser website - Kaleta is going to be out for at least a couple of weeks. Sherif and McWilliams are available for selection.
MH says it's the same injury he had at Motherwell; "It's an injury that he's had previously in his career. It's one of those things." General opinion on Motherwell fans forum was that Kaleta wasn't good enough defensively to play RWB and teams exploited the space behind him
However, they felt his pace and delivery would have have seen him do well playing wide right in front of a RB using four at the back.

Rotherham Advertiser - Benson injured again. Damage to his ankle is being assessed today.

Also - Cann was missing last night because he had suffered concussion during a five-a-side training game. He can't play on Tuesday v Olham due to EFL concussion protocols.

Rotherham Advertiser website - Benson's injury was not as bad as first thought and he could be back for our next game, if all goes well in training. Nombe is back in training, and is scheduled to return to the playing squad for the Leyton Orient match. No clear decison has been made about Cann yet. Kelly suffered a calf injury in a practice game, but will be restarting light training soon.

Rotherham Advertiser website - after making good progress in training, Nombe and Benson could be back in the Millers squad for Saturday.

Rotherham Advertiser website - Kayode injury was worse than originally thought. He will be out for several more weeks. No exact date is being given for his likely return.

Also ... Cann may not have passed all the concussion tests in time for tomorrow's match. If he can't play, one of our outfield players with be the "sub keeper".
My comment : Strange decision - why not have our youth team keeper on the bench?

From the tone of MH's voice on the radio , that may mean the end of Etete's spell with the Millers. MH didn't say if Etete has returned to hs parent club for treatment though. A further announcement will be made on Thursday. Also - no mention if Cann will be back in the Millers squad next week. More concussion tests to be completed in the week ahead?

Rotherham Advertiser website - James has a tight hamstring and may not be fit for Saturday. Kayode needs to have a knee injection. He may then be able to restart outdoor training next week.

Also ... Etete (who tore quad in training) is going to be out for "2 or 3 months, could be longer". (Doesn't sound like he has returned to his parent club though ).

Raggett has done well on returning to training and could be in the Millers squad on Saturday. (y)

Rotherham Advertiser interview with MH... Agbaire was withdrawn from the Scotland U-21 squad (with the agreement of the Scottish coaching staff), due to a minor groin problem. Martha spent a long time travelling on his international duties, even though he didn't play. Both are unlikely to start against Leyton Orient.

Rotherham Advertiser website - if all goes to plan in training, Hall, James, Sherif and Agbaire will be availalbe to play on Saturday.

T. Holmes is doing some of his rehab work back at Luton, his parent club. Scheduled to be back in the Millers squad in December, maybe slightly earlier if all goes well.

RUFC Official website - interview with MH... the players are recovering from the sickness bug . Hugill looks much healthier now and has been training hard. Sherif and Agbaire have still not fully recovered from injury, but may be fit enough to be included in the squad by Saturday. Raggett will want to play , "even if his leg is dropping off".

Rotherham Advertiser website - Kayode is getting assessed by a specialist surgeon. Kaleta's damaged hamstring is proving slow to heal. He's not fit enough to resume light training yet.

Rotherham Advertiser - MH said that Rafferty was substituted at Barnsley due to injury. Not clear what the problem is yet. Also Agbaire injury situation is being monitored - surgery may be required.
