Millers injury news 2025/26

It’s never ending. Realistically we have our five specialist centre backs - Holmes, Raggett, Baptiste, Jules and Agbaire - all out injured. We are going into important games with a back three comprising two experienced full backs and a youngster who was being touted as a promising midfielder at the start of the season. I would want the game on if I were Luton, but somehow we are managing to pick results up amidst all this madness. I am reminded of when King Ronnie tried to get a Boxing Day game at Posh called off because we had about twelve players out with flu. We had to play them with a patched up side featuring some walking wounded and a group of kids and won about five nil (I think Danny Hudson scored a couple on debut). Sometimes adversity creates a strong spirit.

Think Warney scored two in the Posh game.
Yes Caz he did indeed.
Danny Hudson did score, Steve Thompson and Leo Fortune -West.
5-0 win, Boxing Day Massacre. Terrific atmosphere in the away end apart from some Millers fans fighting with other Millers fans. Promotion season when we finished 2nd. Unbelievable game.
Happy Days.

Rotherham Advertiser website - more bad news... Raggett comeback has been delayed by a further couple of weeks, Agbaire has now been booked in for surgery. He's going to be out for a few weeks, according to MH on Radio Sheffield.

My comment - No wonder Luton wanted the fixture to go ahead! Presumably Harrison Duncan will be on the bench on Saturday.
Medical advice on Agbaire looks dodgy. Passed fit to play after the 'injections' he lasted 30 seconds of pre-match warm up.

I am a pessimist. I expect things to get worse - starting with two away defeats in the next two games. 'History repeats itself, first as tragedy, then as farce.'

Actually that old Boxing Day team doesn’t look too patched up, does it?! I don’t think anyone predicted a five nil win though against a Peterborough side that went on to win promotion.

I don’t see us getting anything at Luton, but then I didn’t see us getting anything at Barnsley either so there we go. Two or three points from these couple of away games would be a good return imo.

I doubt he will want to sign free agents on short term contracts unfortunately MH may have no other options up front.
Use just one striker upfront and pack midfield out.
Perhaps utilise Martha across the frontline and maybe Kaleta back from injury for a longer period of time, Jack Holmes to be used wide right.?

Rotherham Advertiser website... statement from MH - we are now triyng to sign a "free agent" striker. (Nombe was injured in training). Situation with our defence - expecting some players back from injury in a couple of weeks, so that problem is not quite as urgent.

My comment - can only sssume that it's bad news re injuries of Nombe, Hugill and Sherif.

Think MH has been forced into signing a free agent striker. That’s if he finally decides to do so. We should know more by Monday afternoon.
First scan for Nombe by the sounds of it wasn’t good news and he’s supposed to be having another scan possibly Monday. Hopefully it’s not too serious and back in 3 weeks although by the sounds of it could well be much worse .
Jordan Hugill - all depends what Grade the ankle sprain is. Looking on the bright side it’s 1 to 2 weeks. Worse case scenario is an ankle ligament tear and out for anywhere around 8 weeks + or anytime in between that timescale.
Sherif - I don’t think he’s anywhere near fit but had to be used. Hoping it’s a case of careful training , rehabilitation in the week and not pushing our luck hoping he will be able to play 45 minutes against Reading.

Free Agents - mmmm - can’t think of any that will be anywhere near the fitness levels to start a game so it’s going to be a big gamble whoever he brings in, if indeed he decides to go down that route.
Not looking good Striker wise is it.?.
