that's not the Sheehan way, he doesn't seem bothered about control like his predecessors were.

It feels more solid defence based and counter attack yet we have very little to counter attack with. Ronald can't beat a man.

I expected Sheehan to demand pace out wide in the Summer window and yet we're piling up with midfielders
I’d say it’s more about how he sees control, for him it’s not possession that controls the game but the ability to win the ball back. More Klopp than Pep.

I know some prefer possession but I’ve lowered my standards to just not being bored over the last few years and the way we play under Sheehan will do for me at the moment.

Control for me is more pressure than possession. Whether that's pressing or creating attacking problems in the opposition's half. We've not much of either yet

Very disappointing goal to concede early on in the half direct from an in-swinging corner.

We don't really look like getting back into it

we've been awful this half. Not a single shot the entire half. We could make a few signings but I still worry about this style of play. It's baffling.

Match average positions. A total lack of presence up top with Cullen (20) dropping deep to almost the half way line.

Lots of negativity surrounding Sheehan. I was one that was happy to see him get the job while having some doubts. I was expecting a more well realised style to come through, even if we changed based on the opposition. I didn’t see anything like that today.

Silver lining - Sheffield United have conceded a few against Bristol.

I hate to think we’ve wasted a summer and a window on this manager, hopefully today is as bad as it gets🤞🤞

As much as today was a poor watch it really emphasised what is missing in this squad and that’s a ball winner in the midfield who will allow the others to operate more freely Fulton killed everything made no space for others made the rest of them look really dysfunctional

Today we were a big flop, no surprise to some as there were warning signs of what was to come in the friendly defeats. Second-half was frustrating, we looked as if we’d given up after they scored. I lost count of the times Key passed the ball back instead of going forward. We were a shadow of the team that finished on such a high last season.
Of little consolation today was the deserter Darling had a player rating of only 4.09 in Norwich’s home defeat to Millwall.

Darling had a solid 7/10 rating on Sofa score? Stats suggest he had a good game but anyway, yes worrying signs so far whilst it does remain very early days.

But like I posted on twitter, there was no style of play. It was a jumble up of nothing really. Long balls from the back, we're not even attempting to play out from the back, just lump it down the channels for the wide players to chase.

We need better coaching than that at this level.

We're not a counter attacking side based on yesterday's evidence. We're not a direct side or route one as we started with Cullen as a lone man in a front 3. (Never again)
