Middlesbrough modified Kodi box trader gets suspended jail term

A trader who sold TV boxes which allowed viewers to watch subscription films and football for free has been given a suspended jail term. Brian Thompson had denied breaking the law by selling the Kodi boxes, setting up the prospect of a landmark trial.

I guess I have known a few "criminals" in my time then.

Did anyone else have the local "video man" come around with the pirate videos in the boot of his car? The original "criminals". Our guy only lived up the road. Ah, those were the days.

lol, maybe it was only a countryside thing. Or just an Irish thing?

Used to come around every Saturday, I remember Look Who's Talking was the first video I saw. We also got Kindergarten Cop a few weeks after, there was sound but no picture lol. It was a bit hit and miss to be honest.

 
Have vague memories of people trying to sell boxes that decoded Sky/BSB and cable, nobody selling videos per se.

I think only teenage pregnancy rates haven't been blamed on film piracy, for as long as I remember it's always been tagged to something as a threat.
