MGW under Dyche, Woan and Stone

V Leeds he played almost like second striker. Pressed two CB’s and sometimes higher up pitch than Jesus. Deeper v Liverpool but circumstances. The flicks have disappeared and he delivers simple balls quickly and makes space. Still can’t shoot though but strike was clean and firm at weekend. Not on free kick or corner duty.
The question that should be asked is why has it taken 4 managers at Forest + international coaches to get through to him & cut the fancy out

Probably related to his loss of form. Started to listen to coaches rather than media. Not sure but I like the new MGW. Flicks may return as confidence increases but perhaps limited to opposition half.

That's how he is now being coached. There was that video last week where he was told to stop over elaborating and get the shot off.

I think the coaching setup which is now in place is helping the whole squad. There's a lot of emphasis on "pass and move", and getting shots away early.

I'm now looking forward to seeing if our offensive set pieces (because they have been atrocious at times) become attacking set pieces.

Agree. Very refreshing after tiki taka, inverted fullbacks and some of the other nonsense fads in recent football.

Straight forward football done to a very good level. I reckon in top gear we can be sublime.

Outrageous he still gets to take them. It’s not even like he’s unlucky - his technique is horrible. Hasn’t Neco Williams scored a couple for Wales?
MGW just can't seem to shoot when he has time to think about it. When it's an instinctive shot he's better. As proven nicely at Liverpool with a first time rebound tucked in the bottom corner vs a free kick hit straight into the middle of the wall.

I have always said he reminds me of the Liverscum version of Sterling in front of goal in that he just cannot seem to strike the ball cleanly. If he can break the 10 goals per season barrier his value would improve dramatically.

Typical filth not I EXPECTED any less on this vile, VILE forum.

I remember when this used to be a safe space to talk Forest without the BS.

SA.

Aah young Wonky you cheese thieving little tinker LoL :tophat:

Back from your temporary permanent weekend break I see? Learned your lesson, I hope.

I for one am prepared to let sleeping dogs lie. Are you? Hmm? Well?

Thought not

3 in 3 after not looking remotely like scoring for ages. Looks like he has his mojo back.

To be fair, you could probably start threads for every player under the new management team.

Back on track. Woan and Stone ready and able to improve our wingers. Set plays at both ends dramatically improved. So much better all round.
