Fast food giant McDonald’s sparked fury by refusing to provide hot water to make cuppas for the homeless.

They'd probably only fill it full of sugar and additives anyway!

I wouldn't mind if they did this out of a hard nosed business decision or pure spite but they did it because hot water could only be provided in “approved cups”. Pathetic.

For some reason this reminded me of when the warnings first came in on cups, you know, warning, boiling water is hot, remember how much better the world was before they started doing that to everything, those were the days of natural selection, I miss those days.

Oh the jobsworthy and PC of it all. I don't ever eat at McDonald's. The food is vile

charity beggars seething at not getting what they want - oh the angst

The sooner Russell Brand is running the country the better then no 'cause' will go wanting

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Stupidity!

Surely someone should of had the brains to think of filling up the flasks using water from the officially tested company drinking vessels, or is that too much for some people?.......

If someone had been burnt by the hot water in this process McDonald's could have been liable for compensation. It's a system that rewards stupidity at the cost of common sense.

another story blown out of proportion. The fucking flasks didn't fit under the water machines.....

The Birmingham mail must be the worst paper going. Its about time they printed some news.

Yep heard the girls concerned on WM , flasks didn't fit or the staff were too thick to fill them from a smaller vessel like a jug or a big paper cup !!

thing is mate , health and safety has gone mad these days - say if they did fill those flasks and then one spilt over a little child on the way out causing the child being scarred - who's going to get the blame?

personally what I would have done is fill the flasks up for them and took it out the back door for them - but then I have a bit of common sense.

Hardly a story to make the news paper imo.

McDonalds said no, move onto the next café....simple
