With Kodjia out for up to six months, McCormack is being given a chance to shape up and get back involved.

we cant get rid of said loafers yet we still buy even more, makes you wonder what sort of questions are asked, checks done before squillions are splashed out.

Think this is all lip service to be fair.

If anyone offered £5 million we'd snap their hands off.

He wasn't bad at the start of the season, even if he wasn't fully fit. If his private life is sorted (as Bruce hinted it was) and if he carries out the regime which Bruce has put him on, he could still do a good job for us.

I don't believe Steve Bruce has any new or untried ideas of how to get Hogan and Kodjia playing in the same team, never mind McCormack

In any other job, employment they would be sacked. Gross misconduct.

Why are footballers so protected, agents should be charged with a failure to sell goods up to a merchantable quality/standard.

About time football wised the fuck up.

Absolutely agree. They get paid so much money and they can't even be arsed to get their act together. Perhaps it is because they earn so much that they go off the rails but then again it is not as simple as that. How can it be that players at Villa can screw £45k-£60k per week without even playing ...it is absolute bollocks and an afront, a kick in the teeth to the fans who sacrifice so much to see the Villa. What sort of business model is it .... yet not too many are questioning the current incumbents.

It would make much more sense to pay them a low basic with high bonuses. £10k a week basic, £30k per appearance, £30k goal scoring bonus. Want more money, son? Score some bloody goals.

Hang on. Didn't he have a medical when he signed? And don't we train the players?

If he's unfit or has issues that need to be addressed then these should be found at the medical and I personally think a medical shouldn't just be physical.

And if they come to us fit then what the hell are we putting on the training schedule? Because we seem to leave out passing too.

The barman at the Last Chance Saloon at Villa Park may have to take on some extra help this summer to deal with the influx of patrons.

I've said it before 67, Kodjia cannot play with a strike partner.
His strength is his greed, which makes him ideal as a lone striker but, impossible in a strike pairing.
If we keep Kodjia and Hogan we have to have two ways of playing.
I guess it will come down to the midfield we end up with whether we play one or two strikers.

As for McCormack, I doubt getting physically fit will make any difference.
There is a reason a striker scoring 15 - 20+ goals a season is continually moved on.
In this case it looks like a huge case of prattism.
The word at Fulham was, if he didn't get moved on, the first team squad as a whole would put in transfer requests.
I think you'd probably find players at all of his former clubs who felt the same.

As for not being fit enough to fulfill his contractual obligations.
It is legal cause to with-hold payment.
