Looking at the forecast today it's going to be similar to the game away at Accrington Stanley 18 months ago, hopefully the result will be better than that game and I don't get as wet

Short trip from Oxford for me today for my first game of the season. Looking forward to a positive performance and result against a Wycombe team that has perfected the art of winning games on the back foot.

I imagine Wycombe have some tall physical players and hit the front men quite quickly, a bit like us in the early Cowley days? Think Rotherham will be like that too, they always seem to have behemoths playing against us.

Having done the journey hundreds of times, if travelling from Lincoln it is 95% of the time quickest to go A46 to Leicester, M1 to Northampton, A43 to the M40 then on to Wycombe.

To avoid local traffic, come off at Junction 5 (Stokenchurch), it is quicker than going on to Junction 4, half a mile in take the right turn/fork to Marlow (B482), turn left in Lane End and follow that road, which becomes Park Lane, to the ground. Trees and fields to within 200m of parking up.

There are no decent pubs in Wycombe, not even one. Stokenchurch has a reasonably priced Shell garage, a chip shop and two pubs - The Royal Oak, Fleur de Lis. Lane End also has two good pubs - Grouse & Ale, The Chequers.

Enjoy the trip, safe journey, hope we win.

When leaving, always turn right up the hill.

Morning all. Setting off soon from SE London.
Tough one in store - team just relegated from the champ - last season with the three who'd come down, we took 4 points away from home from the matches.

Like on Tuesday, we also lost a few home matches against teams we'd hope to finish above last season (for Bolton, read B.Rovers, Shrews, Rochdale, Fleetwood etc), so even if we don't win today, let's not start going overboard with reactions.

It's a long season but personally, I saw enough on Tuesday to suggest we'll certainly win more than we lose this season. Sure Mapp etc are working on sorting out the issues at the back and going forward.

Nowhere near that bad, into the teeth of a howling gale 2nd half on that day. Forecast for today is 'light rain and gentle breeze' at 3, though the thunderstorms after 5 might be a concern if they arrive early!
