That's disappointing from Nuno, thought the Maddison / Yates incident was "a clear red card" which is a bit embarrassing really. Listening to him I'm not sure that Nuno actually grasps the gravity of our situation still busy seeing the positives, but in our current situation we need a bit more. Although thinking about it he must grasp the situation, but perhaps not too bothered by it, which would be a bit odd, but there just seemed something missing in his attitude

Not sure what to make of that. We play with such swagger and belief when something gives us a little boost, saw it first half against Fulham and last 30 mins of today's first half. But it doesn't seem to take anything to knock the confidence and take the swagger away from us.

I think we miss a real leader in the defence, we play so much better at the back with Felipe or Boly. They are not the answer as they have their injury problems but we need some real experience that we can rely on in the back 4. I love the oma and Murrilo pairing but I just think what is key is that we get a real leader and organiser somewhere into the defence or the the defensive midfield. That for me has to be our key strengthening over the summer. Yates is not that person. He was awful today. Everyone has a bad performance in them but today he was miles off it from the start and was at risk of getting sent off the whole game. His game is shit housing people but he is our captain and I just don't see that style as what need as to get organised at the back with such and inexperienced centre back pairing.

We really lost the initiative second half and while first half I'm sat thinking we have the game to get the points away we need I'm now sat second half fearing what the game against man city might do for our goal difference if our heads drop. The third goal was awful and our reaction to it even worse.

Ultimately this was spurs away and we more than had our moments. I guess it says something that I feel deflated that we didn't take an opportunity to get something from this in such a tough fixture. That shows me we must have something about us and what may have been had wood not had his eye on another blow job from zed instead of the goal.
Accurate summary. And agreed on a first choice leader as CB this summer.

Plus a LB, DCM, CF and a winger

You know what it is with this team, they never ever spring a welcome surprise. We are so fucking predictable. Yes, spurs away you’d expect a defeat but of course we put in a pathetic heartless performance in the second half despite being level at half time and lose without laying a glove on them.

I feel like I’m always having to look at last minute winners or crazy wins for rivals - meanwhile we either disappoint in games we should be winning or putting in the same shit we all sadly expect like today. Why don’t these twats, who we’ve spent £200m on, fucking produce a surprise winning performance? Course not. We’re a cowardly team that don’t fancy the fight.

The thing is, he punches him in the stomach.

Sure, Yates had wound him up to produce that result, but VAR had a look. Should be a red card.

Missed chances cost us, though.

If you swing an elbow, headbutt, punch but they miss or are half arsed it’s still intent. Regardless the f how weak or how shit it’s still a red

My God Finbar, you don't want much mate, we are operating under the financial constraints of PSR unless the rules are changed
We can certainly look to loan a couple of these (DCM/Winger) but that’s what we need. Richards hopefully coming back fully fit would be a massive bonus

Whether it's weak or not, it's a red.

We lacked steel in the middle of the park. Yates and Danilo were not up to scratch in breaking up play.

I'm disappointed as I thought we played well
Should've also been a red for Yates for calling for a VAR check though.

Postecoglou's change in midfield at half-time made a massive difference for them. Unfortunately, the changes we made weren't as effective.
With the exception of Dominguez, we could only really weaken our team with our subs.

I think the battle went out of us as soon as Nuno thought the game was up and decided to protect players for the run in.

I haven't read back through all the gumph (because I don't know where AC gets it from) but has anyone mentioned what a great game Williams had? He was superb.

I haven't seen an angle that shows that tbh. All I have seen is from behind and it looks like he weakly moves his arm towards his stomach but it's not conclusive.

However from Nuno comments he says he saw it and yeah doesn't matter how hard it is if he threw a punch he should be off. I can't find a clip if it online, the ones I have found the links have been taken down. Was there a replay that conclusively shows him hit him?

Either way yates is very lucky we did not concede there. There was no contact to warrant him staying down so long while they were attacking, he should have been up and defending.

If there is any substance in a punch being thrown then Maddison will be in the shit as he didn't get a yellow so it will be reviewed if he has actually punched someone.

Come off it, there's not enough evidence to convict Madison so he won't be in the shit.

Yates was poor today, apart from the shot where Wood should have scored from the rebound.

I thought Omobamidele was our best player. Most others were overshadowed by a good Spurs side, as you might expect from league positions
