Vital 1st Team Regular
As i have put on another thread, I am staying on match thread writing, on the same winner- stays- on basis that applies to pool tables and Vital match threads. I am in east London, killing a bit of time before seeing Nottingham- born, but London based Stereo MCs support the Happy Mondays, so I am using it to consider whether some other Nottingham boys can succeed in London this weekend.
At half time on Saturday, things were going pretty well for Forest. But goals for Brentford and most significantly, another late goal from Luton Town have put some pressure on a match that we might have hoped would be a free hit.
Tottenham Hotspur are in reasonable, if not their best form. They are missing our favourite pantomime villain Richarlison. There were moans from Spurs fans that they had overpaid for Brennan Johnson, but they are changing their tune a bit, and the loan signing of Tino Werner has complemented Johnson's game. They may not miss Richarlison as much, and Forest will have to be careful of the Tottenham pace on both left and right flanks. This may mean that Niakhate gets In, since he is fast (and also has a long throw, which may be a potential weapon in a match in which Forest are likely to be on the back foot).
The weather forecast for tomorrow evening is dry but with strong winds, which may therefore add an element of unpredictability.
I am going to this game, going with my wife who is a Spurs fan, so sitting joylessly in the Spurs section. It is a fantastic stadium, and I am hoping Forest can do better there than their insipid showing there last season, notwithstanding that Forest scored and missed a penalty. The ticket information says they are putting on some Korean- based pre- match entertainment to commemorate Son Heung Min's 400th match for Spurs. This us likely to mean that there are even more Koreans wandering around Tottenham and hoping to soak up a cracking atmosphere, but who find themselves bemused at the general squalor of Tottenham / Northumberland Park, where you are more likely to find the atmosphere infused by crack.
Although I like Son Heung Min and his cheerful ways, I shall be silently willing his afternoon to be ruined, and that Forest fans everywhere will have Happy Mondays.
You Reds!

Are the Inspiral Carpets there as well? Went to watch the 3 at Rock City a couple of weeks ago.

once they get the poor people out of Northumberland park there is going to be a nice big shiny hotel and flats.

right now it makes st Ann's look upmarket. if you can imagine a Ming vase sat in a cowpat that's the spurs stadium.

sick of getting dicked by these. Please please please give us the Fulham forest not the palace forest.

anything tomorrow is an absolute bonus.

If Neco could do a job on Son like he did at the CG, his 400th game will be a damp squid, as we say on here.

Richarlison is good in the air so thank god he's out.

I can't decide if we're getting slaughtered or sneaking a result. You just never know with us.

In all seriousness this is a game along with the City game we probably have down as defeats so anything gained would be a big bonus. The other 5 games are winnable albeit no games easy. Just hope we are not replying on a bunch of lawyers deciding our fate after the season ends!
