Match Thread - Reading (Home)

We are now in serious trouble this season. The new manager bounce has fizzled out.

The best we can hope for is staying up. And boy we need our injured players back asap!

All very disappointing…😡

We have mainly poor players playing to their capable best. Its as simple as that, we can't ask anything more from them. Very poor recruitment and judgement from the powers that be.
No hope for this club.

Evatt has to shoulder some of tbe blame today.
Like him or loathe him, Evans was our best ayer today and the only one influencing anything. To sub him on 60 for Brum kid was fucking criminal.
Lyons, keep saying it he isn't good enough. We cant miss 2 gilt edged chances to take the lead and expect to get anything from a game.
There was one big plus today and that was Horsfall.
Won every header.

Honeyman worst game for us and playing Wed lad in midfield backfired terribly.
Their no11 had him on toast for their first, getting the pen too.
Good player that 11, reminded me of Dembele.
Brown got better as the game went on.
Ennis and Taylor so much more mobile that Fletcher and Blox we need them.back asap.
Morgan is a huge huge loss to us as is Josh.

Good summary that SEX.

With limited options until we get injured players back we are right up against it.

Was a little surprised with the substitutions today and clearly we needed to deal with their no 11 who ran the show and exposed Ihikwere big style. So yes Evatt should take responsibility.

However, after a decent start (with good chances) we were caught by a sucker punch. Looked to be getting back into it in second half until the penalty. Then we capitulated.

I hope we play our best side against Harrogate & Carlisle as maybe a couple of wins can build a bit of confidence. That said I wouldn’t be surprised if we lose both.

From where we are now, if we finish one place above relegation it will be an achievement. Ennis & co can’t come back soon enough and there could be some significant changes come January as clearly several players just aren’t good enough.

We're fucked. Simples.

At the start of the season I'd have never thought in a million years that we'd be where we are currently. I truly believed we'd be top two or at least firmly planted in the playoffs - but not this! What's happened? Was it all down to Bruce? Was it purely his choices on our recruitment? Where's the pride and the passion gone from playing for Blackpool? We're better than this surely? Where do we go from here? Will January's window help us? Will SS be prepared to foot the bill again? I know that if I was him then I certainly wouldn't....

Worrying times indeed. When we're in these situations, being a dyed-in-the-wool Seasider it hurts on a personal level - it truly does. When Evatt was appointed was I pleased? No. Unlike a majority of others (Woohoo Evo's coming home!) I didn't think the move was right. A honeymoon period was always going to happen but now the reality has hit. Our players (most of them) are simply not good enough, play some truly awful tactics and have no pride whatsoever of wearing the tangerine shirt. Who's to blame? I'm not sure and certainly not one to point fingers but we need to change and need to change quickly otherwise by Xmas we'll be well and truly in the mire and I don't know about the rest of you but I can't stand the thought of dropping to the bottom division..... again!

You expect too much, no one can make a silk purse out of a sows ear. We are what we are, a dysfunctional football club.

The art work in the ground on display for the first time was superb.
The catering, they've gone back to the pie shop and the pasties were the best thing in there for years.
Dysfunctional - definitely on the pitch.
I agree we cant make a silk purse out of a pigs ear, but pick the right team, and if it doesn't work chamge it.
Should not play Wed lad in midfield.
Evatts got his favourites already and Ashworth and Banks are not them.
Dont know why, everytime I see Banks he looks positive foes forward and isnt afraid to shoot.

My Saddlers mate - we enjoyed our company for 48hrs around the England game at Wembley and discussed Finnigan.
He messaged me tonight asking not to take him back in Jan.
He scored again.
Kouassi - currently out with a hamstring but out on loan whilst Bondo makes the bench, come on ffs.
Evatt has to recall these two in Jan.

Everything you said there confirms.
