Two Pompey Supporters Talk To Vital Lincoln City (Who Are Ya?):

"Kenny Jackett is a bit of a marmite manager when it comes to whether or not fans are behind him. Personally, I respect his CV and past accomplishments getting other big clubs, such as Wolves, Swansea and Millwall, out of these lower divisions, and it was absolutely clear to see why he was appointed in 2017."

Interesting from their assistant manager Gallen who said: “There’s always a surprise package and they’ve been that team, but have got a very good management team in Michael Appleton and David Kerslake.“There are quite a lot of big clubs in this division and they probably weren’t fancied for promotion, but they’re strong opponents.”

Come on City, let’s show them why we are joint top.

Another biggest game of the season, and they keep on coming. Going to be a huge ask especially with Pompey looking to avenge Saturday but with a full squad bar Monstar to pick from we are as ready as we will ever be. Hopefully it will be another away day to be proud of. UTI 👊💥

I can see this being either a thrashing or a comfortable win. We were easily beaten last time round. Interesting to see what happens.

Just to reiterate, Portsmouth have a mid-table home record with only five wins from twelve games. They have lost three of their four home games against other top sides. Lincoln have the (joint) best away record in the division with seven wins from ten, and only one defeat (0-1 at Doncaster). Lincoln have conceded only 2 goals in their last 8 away games. They have a better overall record this season than Portsmouth, have scored more goals, and conceded fewer. So where is this belief that they will thrash us coming from?

Respective records:

Portsmouth
P32 W18 D5 L9 F59 A37 (includes one win on penalties)

Lincoln
P32 W22 D3 L7 F62 A35 (includes two wins on penalties)

Hopefully last time was more an off day than that their style is just a perfect match for us. They pressed high and they also got a lot of time in and around our area. If I recall correctly, they could have been five or six ahead by the time we pulled one back. I think Gotts getting a baptism of fire at right back with Eyoma inside was part of the problem defensively but I'm still not hugely optimistic as they were the most dominant side I've seen.
