Imps To Prevail At Vale? Vale's Veil Of Tears?

Saturday sees the Imps back in league action against the Valiants for our first trip to Vale Park since that fateful relegation season when we lost 2-1 there during that eleven-game run without a win which eventually saw us submit to Aldershot on the final day.

Port Vale (a): Form, Past Results & More:

Ahead of tomorrow's game against Port Vale, we take a look at the current form of both sides, Scotimp's views from the Season Preview and past meetings between the two sides.

Ollie Palmer needs one goal to reach double figures for the season. That would be a good way to celebrate the PFA Player of the Month award.

Matt Rhead needs two to reach double figures for the third season running. That hasn't been done since Simon Yeo.

Harry Anderson needs three to reach double figures for the season. We can dream, can't we?

And Michael Bostwick needs four...

This will be the 12th time this season that City have been followed by at least 1000 fans to an away game (excluding Shrewsbury):

Notts Co 4140
Chesterfield 1899
Barnet 1881
Grimsby 1878
Rotherham 1706
Mansfield 1680
Cambridge 1678
Wycombe 1433
Stevenage 1171
Wimbledon 1065
Luton 1044

These things were not confirmed in the past, but I wonder whether that is a new club record?

Look at those numbers...

I mean, just look at them..

Wow, just wow..

Come on you Imps!!!!

Only three clubs in L2 have a worse home record than Port Vale's 24 points (Chesterfield 24, Barnet 24 and Grimsby 23).

They have won 6 league games at home, compared to Lincoln's 7 away wins.

Quite astonishing

Chesterfield v Mansfield kicks off at 1pm.

Defeat for Mansfield pretty much puts them out of contention for the play-offs.

Massive game, but they all are now. They will no doubt try and wind Rhead up after his antics last week, he needs to be careful.

Chesterfield v Mansfield sounds like a spicy one, both have a lot to play for. Hope the fans behave!

Actually scratch that, they're adults, they can do what they like.

Macclesfield 1 Orient 1 at half time.

Macc need 4 points to be sure of the title. One point will be enough if Tranmere lose to Aldershot later.

I thought BT sport mentioned that Macc only have to equal the Tranmere result to be promoted?

I think they've got that wrong in that case. There is a 12-point gap (85v73). If they both draw today, there is still a 12-point gap (86v74), and Tranmere would have 4 games to play with a far better goal difference.

Probably very hypothetical now.

BT now saying 'bettered' the Tranmere result.
