Wow, simply wow.
Yes they had chances but so did we, on top of the 3 goals we scored.
That was an absolutely belting performance against the team who would have gone top, with a game in hand.
To their (Cardiff) credit they were by far the best team I've seen this season.
Let's start with us, and individual players.
Peacock Farrell. He'll be gutted to concede, did excellent everything absolutely brilliantly, bar their goal. I bet I was behind only Pool fan chuffed they scored though as my 28/1 bet came in

...
His distribution was excellent and he's the first Pool keeper to be able to throw the ball over the halfway line since George Wood... 4 or 5 fantastic saves, well done.
Coulson - really like this guy, he's solved the issue of that left back / wing back position.
Im hoping its nothing serious why he didn't return for the 2nd half but there's a solid, under rated player in Ashworth ready to step up.
The back 3 of Casey, Horsfall and Wednesday lad came in to their own yesterday.
We all know what Casey is about. Its no secret he didn't like Bruce but we have, in him a player that would start in any team in this division. Brought up at Leeds he wants to play football.
Horsfall is looking like the player we thought that we had signed and the Wed lad has been a revelation as the season goes on.
Honeyman was allover the pitch yesterday, and Brown was the same. Yes they lack the creativity of Morgan and Evans but doing that dirty, breaking the play up, pressing stuff often goes unnoticed, not by these 2 yesterday. Really stood out.
Bowler - the Josh from.4yrs ago would rip this division apart, and Im confident that he's going to be that player we fell in love with 4yrs ago.
He was in a no10 role behind the front 2. Watch that ball he played Fletcher in for our first goal, absolutely perfection.
He had no boot on at the end of the match but was stood unaided a d with no space booot on. Hopefully nothing gane missing.
CJ. Its just not clicking for him. I think on current performances if we had other options he'd be the one to drop out of the starting line up. Missed a sitter very early doors that would have settled us down.
Fletcher - that was the player we saw in the second half of last season. Started to win ever everythng in the air, some good link up play and 2 goals of real quality. That first was the goal that was put in to a tight angle where the keeper didn't expect it, his second was sublime. A beauty of a dink over their keeper. MOTM for me.
Blox - could have had 4 yesterday. Hit the post, missed 2 one on ones and then put away probably the hardest chance of them all. He's clearly a confidence player and that performance will have done him no harm.
Subs - Hansonn, great unselfish ball for our second goal.
Banks - he's areal handful and was right in their defences faces, just what we needed to keep the pressure on.
The formation was a Critchley not Bruce 3 5 2 with the 5 in midfield being a 4-1 with the one being Bowler behind the forward two.
Theres a couple of obvious pointers, the fitness of the team is evidently better. That will take time, but the kids* will be out Tuesday and time to rest the first teamers we dont have to play in the ldv.
Confidence, sone marked difference on players, taking players on, belief in themselves. Fletcher, Banks, Bowler are all confidence players, Evatts installing the individual beliefs in to tbem and it shows.
The team had a clear game plan and executed it almost perfectly, working as a coherent unit. Pressing hard and fast to win tbe ball back. Its invite them on, hit them on the counter attack stuff.
Evatt - what a revelation. I had, and still do, some concerns on the off the pitch stuff, but on the pitch its P3 W3.
These were ganes we would have easily lost with the last idiot.
He goes on about doing the basics right, hard work with belief in the game plan.
Tbere was nothing more disheartening that watching players come on to the pitch as a sub under Bruce and asking the coaches were do they play.
He had a clear game plan yesterday and in reality we probably should have scored 6.
He's getting them fitter, working together and playing with confidence something we have lacked all.season.
He said at the start set pieces were important. All of a sudden free kicks and especially corners are training ground routines. That Ashworth, yes Ashworth shot from a corner, anywhere else, a foot either side and we would be growing about it for the rest of the year.
Im lucky, I can clearly see Evatt during a game..yes he's getting frustrated at times , but at least he's telling players what to do, and encouraging them at the time too.
I can't wait to see Enns, Imray and Taylor come back, this type of play is suited right for them.
Crowd wanted the fist pumps at the end, but he shied away from taking the limelight, letting the 2 goalscorers lead the fish pumping and he had a loving arm around players at the end too talking to them, pointing to the pitch, clearly discussing, revisiting, bits of the game.
Lastly the crowd.
That's the first time this season we have been up for it.
Evatts said he wants this to be an intimidating fortress and when we get behind the team, like yesterday its a huge plus.
Its enjoyable to watch, yes its early doors but Evatt realises this, after the match views from him acknowledging the performance, but already looking ahead to next Sat in which should be a huge geme.
I usually go to Burton but Im off to Wrmbley on Thurs so will be giving next Sat a miss.
Long may it continue.
Think Reading after last Thurs win jumped 11 places.
All we can do is keep picking up the points and leave the rest of the league to worry about us, luckily is still pretty tight for the next 10 spots above us, I bet thats his first goal, the top half of the table.
I.mentioned the kids* before. I went along to watch our full U18 team beat a very over aged knobbers (who had Jordan Tnompson starting) the other day.
Zack Knight, best player on the pitch, and along with Ky Leleindal are players to keep an ear out for.
On to the ldv in Tues, let's keep this winning run going.
