Match Thread - (PL) - Manchester United- (H) - 20251108

Overall another poor performance and despite scoring two today we looked pretty toothless going forwards and we appeared to lose every fifty fifty challenge. In all honesty United never looked like scoring but Sarr has contributed to them getting the two goals and was, IMO, the weak link in midfield. Richi got a goal but was bloody crap all match and Odobert suddenly came to life when they went down to ten men.

Not helped by the injuries but needed to hold on for 5 minutes against ten men and couldn’t manage that and so the Spursy tag will be bandied about once again. Showed a bit of spirit in getting back into the game but rarely bossed the game and we need at least three forward/midfielders to improve to the levels we would want.

Do these players ever get to our great training ground? I'm convinced they meet-up in the dressing room on match day, the coach say's go out n kick it around but not forward 'cause there aint nobody there!

Richi will think he's proved the haters wrong with that goal, but he was truly shit

Johnson wasn't much better

Odobert Mom for us.

We've the second youngest squad in the PL, give them a break lads.

We're ultimately frustrating but this group will grow stronger together. We need additions but we need tinkering not wholesale changes.
It’s a fair comment however I recall a very young united team running the prem ragged

Schmeichel, Irwin, Bruce, Parker, Pallister, Cantona, Hughes.

They also had Keane who whilst young was the driving force to them becoming the side they were to become.

Now tally up our experienced pros and they don't really compare, do they?

No they don’t and that’s why I say we need to ship out and bring in those that will express their command on the pitch dressing room and training

The main man i think you'll find was Keane. He was the driving force that galvanised that team into a force to be reckoned with. We need to find that man that can do the same for us. The rest is sure to follow.

I dunno what the rest see but i see an incredible crop of youngsters that are close to breaking out. I'm excited but ultimately frustrated cos we're missing that key player and or a fit and firing striker. If we had either we'd be seriously rocking.

The second half was better but overall, the quality was so poor. We looked better when Odebert and Udogie came on (why didn't they both start).
I know Richi scored but he is simply not good enough, the same for Johnson. We must sell them both whilst we can still get decent fees for them.
We are a very average team at the moment but we do have significant injuries, specifically Maddison, Kulu, Solanke, Bergvall and Kudus which gives Frank a pass but I don't think his team selection does.

I think they had Ince for a while in that early set up. And some absolutely knock out players like Sharpe and Kanchelskis. It was Alchamy. Fergie was a lucky boy to have been blessed with that transition of local lads coming through.

Johnson has a place in this squad. Maybe more central. I think so, anyway. But I'll agree, we've sold better in the past. And we've sold worse.

Even still they weren't a patch on the Milan team of the 90s.

Two well matched mid table teams. The returning injured won't make much difference. We need quality in the January window but will they be available? Probably not.
