"Ditch the 4-3-3 and get someone closer to Morton. For the majority of this season, the 4-3-3 system we have operated has without doubt been successful."

Hugeeeee game. Four wins on the bounce for them and another three at the back team. I think they have the most posession in the entire league?

So although 3 at the back we might find that they arent the whole- sit in and break us down style side we've struggled against?

We have generally done ok against the slow build up teams, so I am quietly confident of 3 points tonight, although it will be tense.

MK usually employ a back 3. We will need to have found a solution to that problematic formation tonight

A team in form, employing a formation we always seem to struggle against.

But a morale boost from Saturday's comeback and getting an underprepared squad through the match seemingly unscathed.

MA needs to consider a formation change to better suit the players available? 4-3-3 builds on the strengths of Bridcutt and Hopper, while both are out injured there's a sense of 'round pegs in square holes' in persisting with that formation. 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1, with the 3 supporting the 1, seems to make better use of the players available - assuming of course the likes of Morton, coming back from long injury, covid and a battering for the full 90 minutes on Saturday is up to starting tonight.

Scully deserves a start, but in a role which suits his skills and physique - i.e. not a stand-in for Hopper.

Since they had that run of four successive wins, they have lost 0-2 at home to Crewe (who then lost 0-6 at home to Oxford) and drew 0-0 at Ipswich.
I need to pay attention to other results! The 4 wins would have preceded the original fixture date?

MK are out of contention for the play-offs because of those last two games, their heads may have gone down. They did keep Ipswich quiet on Saturday though - Ipswich had no shots on target (again).

Goals could be their problem - MK have only scored one goal in their last three games, and that came from a defender. Top scorer Cameron Jerome (15) is missing through injury. With other injuries and departures throughout the season, only two players likely to face us tonight have scored more than three goals this season - Scott Fraser with 11 and Joe Mason with 5 - and three of Mason's came in one game.

At least Lincoln have continued to score reasonably regularly despite the poor run.

I'd forgotten Jerome was there to be honest, keep thinking they're a young building team based on the progressive style of play. Maybe it's like a bridcutt arrangement - not sure but I'd expect Jerome to be on a fair wedge for this level.

They have Andrew Surman too who was at Bournemouth last season in the prem. Plus they did have Richard Keogh I think before moving back up north to Huddersfield.

they don’t mind an older player! I am happy Jerome is out.
