Don't forget that Andy Holt has put around £2 million into Accrington in the last two and a half years. Yes, they have done well, but that is one hell of a subsidy.

Have you included the burger bill in that? I hope you've declared that in the total.

Accrington did well on a playing budget of 15,000 grand . who thought they would get promoted ???
This £15k figure is utter rubbish posted by some berk on Twitter but seems to now have become fact. He was saying this was their entire staff costs, not just playing budget. They have 24 players, a manager, assistant and kit man at least on their website. And that's not including any admin staff. It's clearly rubbish.

Gijs, this from the Guardian is probably nearer the truth, equates to £780,000 per annum:
"These days, while Accrington operate on a budget of around £15,000 a week, thought to be the joint-lowest in the Football League, the owner Andy Holt, a local businessman who made his money in the plastics industry and took over three years ago, has given the club a sound footing."

Yesterday summed up a lot about us, not the best display by a long way, but we kept going, fought and battled for everything, driven on by fantastic support and got what we deserved in the exciting end. Shades of last season again. Not so sure about the sending off, would need to see it from a different angle, looked a bit soft on the day. A few of those Rheady has to suffer every week are often much worse, more like assault.
If there was ever a quote that summed us up, and it may be doing a slight disservice to the squad and I don't mean it in that way, it's, "Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard".

We obviously don't have the best 'footballers' in the league (by far the worst either) and we're obviously not a bad side, we all know that, but at a level like this and the NL where players are inconsistent, they'll always be a door ajar for us to win every by game by doing the basics very well.

Take the Coventry game, for example. Their 'talent', Jodi Jones and another forward, turned up for 45 minutes in that game and took it away from us.

On the flip side, you've got Crewe who are a good footballing side but they don't come across as one who do the basics too well. However, when it clicks, which is every so often, they perform well (us and Mansfield, for example).

agree with this. we are very pragmatic. the short balls to the full back. full back often back to centre back. centre back then hits long diagonal. total safety first for two thirds of the pitch - playing mainly tight to the touchline - the non-dangerous areas. then mess around with the ball in the final third. rhead giving the ball away on halfway before we were set up was really unusual for us, and showed how easily the opposition can go through you and score when the team is out of shape.

Actually , where I got the figure from was interview from a piece in our local north west news from Accrington Stanley football club. They mentioned it. If it was rubbish then one can assume maybe even Lincoln's news from the local news is rubbish also. Who knows
