Two Burton Albion Supporters Talk To Vital Lincoln City (Who Are Ya?):

"It’s been a tricky start to Jake Buxton's reign, sitting bottom of the league, and one win in our last sixteen is hardly how the manager would have wanted his time to go. He appears to be a strong leader, saying the right things, but tactically we look lost, and some confusing decisions have been made across the course of the season so far."

It's hasn't been that often that we have an opportunity to go several points clear at the top of the third tier, on Boxing Day.

Such a shame that the Boxing Day treat of pub with family followed by a cracking match will pass us by. In fact just realised that Burton was our last match with a partisan crowd roaring us on to a thrilling 3-2 victory. Still I will be wearing my new Imps hoody, lining up the beers and screaming at the telly. Different times but hopefully another Boxing Day cracker. UTI 👊💥

I would be disappointed if we don't win this one. As an Imps supporter, even now there's always that niggling worry that we won't perform to expectations.

MApp will have the boys fired up with a chance of being top over the holidays, I guess it comes down to who had the most Christmas pudding yesterday.

Will have to miss watching this one on ifollow live. We'll be travelling back North from the Queen of Cities.

Be brilliant if we could win as, the way things are going over there, you can’t predict how many games are left this season 😳

Key point. Games played and points in the bag extra important now.
Don't know if EFL have already put new rules in place to cover a curtailed season. But if so, maybe we might need to be getting all teams to at least half the games played for a PPG finish to be used again. Anyway, whether we get a full season or not, let's just hope we can keep getting great results !

I'm under the impression that tho thirds of the season must be played. Whether that's total matches across all leagues, I don't know. Start digging and it gets complicated.

no midweek game last week. No midweek game next week. Xmas this year is unusual - less ‘thick and fast’ than the rest of the season.
Then we have players coming back from injury.
And the prospect of the transfer window with the option to add fresh blood.

every reason to go for it today.

Yes another 4 would go down nicely. Wonder who the forward is from recent prem league team, probably WBA. I can't get into it, does anyone know please.

It was an old piece about Soule from West Brom, think it was a mistake because it mentioned the start of the season and joining alongside Morton and Palmer. No idea why it was posted again from before, we know Soule was injured before going back to the Baggies.

Another tough one... because even Notty feels the need to put an asterisk to qualify this.

It's all about the right attitude and approach.

Most supporters seem to think we only have to turn up to win.

If the team have that attitude then we may be in for a surprise.

Don't imagine Bostwick and co are just going to lie down and make it easy for us.

Bit like 2016/17 we played December 17th, 26th then January 1st.
Very rare to get breaks around Xmas.
Appleton is expecting some back for the Wimbledon game on the 2nd.

Eardley is injured isn't he? Always wonder how Bostwick's back is, always struggled with it here.

He has had a series of calf injuries this season, just as he did with us in his final year. I remember Danny saying it was a product of Bostwick's chronic back problem, so that is never going to change.
