Match Thread: Lincoln City v Accrington Stanley

Unfortunately or fortunately plans to watch fell by the wayside. Radio Lincs in the car was awful so no idea how it went other than being one down. Sounds like we may have made too many changes in defence in one go. Will be back on the radio for the second half. Come on lads 👏👏👏

Absolutely dire. Nothing good to be said about that half - the home form becoming a worry. Any team that can put some consistency together have free pass to Championship. Hope it is us, starting immediately after MApp gives the lads a talking to over half time.

I’d argue thats probably our worst half of the season, which means one thing at least (hopefully)... a better second half.

I feel Accrington will frustrate with time wasting, however.

HT. Not a good half, both in terms of our football and the commentary and interruptions from Radio Lincs music. Made a difficult game even more difficult to listen to. Accrington have done their home work and know how to put us under pressure. Having said that I think their defence will break if they are really put under pressure as there have been signs that they have weaknesses. Think you can certainly tell the changes have had an effect on our link up play as too many passes have gone astray compared to normal and the new players are not taking up the same positions as Eyoma, Bridcutt & Edun.
Good HT talk by MA.

We've been asleep for 45mins.....hopefully that means we have full energy levels going into the second half.

First few minutes often sets the tone. They were bang on it, we were sloppy... a little theme from quite a few home games now. Why does it seem to happen in home games?
And who would have thought playing against the gusty wind would have such an effect on players of this level.
We were laughably inept. Did we have a shot - even off target. only one team looks like a promotion prospect after that 45

walsh holding it together, and to a lesser extent Poole. Probably lucky to get away with being only 1 down. Over to ma to sort it out uti

TJ and Edun are very good at the link ups on the wings. Very good.

Accrington haven't had to do anything other than get in our faces and unless there is a big improvement that's all they need to do today. Repeated shooting in the foot that half. Gattling gun more than a Magnum.

On the plus side we cannot possibly play that badly again (this season) so fingers crossed for some effective changes.

We should just go for it and play without restriction on the basis that after that first half there is nothing to lose performance or result wise and everything to gain. Don't want anyone to go hiding or start feeling sorry for themselves. I'll settle for a positive reaction and see where we go from there.

That was a mirror image of the Trophy game. Accrington playing as we want to, and our play, not for the first time in a first half at home, non existent.

We look slower than Accrington, too hurried, too inaccurate, nobody can made a simple pass.

There have been a few first 45s at home that are not what you'd expect of a top of the table side. Portsmouth, Sunderland, Peterborough amongst them and now this. We're lucky it's like the last of those and that we're still in the game as we should be two goals down by now.

Can't blame the full backs, everyone has been hopeless. Is Johnson even playing?

However, we've usually improved in the 2nd half, so.... there's always hope.
