Match Thread: Gillingham v Lincoln City

Thommo the dinosaur "I'd have these 2 strikers on my most wanted list"

Hitting WTF is he on about, a pair of lumps at best, honestly his time at Radio Lincs must be up sooner rather than later surely?

Didn’t see that coming. Pretty awful performance. We are too nice.

Walker header at the keeper in the 92nd minute was the only save he had to make.

lacking in way too many aspects today.

Very disappointing performance and result.
Quite a while until our next league game now ( Bolton rearrangement pending of course). Table could be worse for the next game but at least others directly below us have also lost
Away form very poor at the mo

Sounded very poor today. Frustrating after such a positive performance on Tuesday. Hopefully Ipswich aren’t interested on Wednesday as the £36k prize money will be very useful come January.

Ipswich having had a free day today may be more competitive on Wednesday than they were last week unfortunately

Missing our 2 first choice central midfielders really didn't help, we sounded lightweight against a physical side, at least Morrell will be back on Wednesday, hopefully O'Connor too.

At least the sides below us lost apart from Bolton who are now more competitive, and that begs a whole number of questions for the authorities after their 'gimme' start for those lucky enough to play them early in the season.

FT. Better second half, but still no real threat until the last 5 minutes when we actually started to play like we can. Mandron & Hanlan were terrific for Gills but not impressedwith the rest of the team. They were very agricultural at times and I’ve rarely seen a team do so much pushing or pulling without being pulled up. No wonder our front men couldn’t get a clean touch on the ball. The last two or three games we’ve moved the ball around very well and created some great chances. Today the passing was terrible and, apart from Walker’s header at the end, we didn’t test the keeper or get a shot on target. Really hate to say it but things looking gloomy until January when hopefully we can get three or four in to lift the quality. The gaps in fixtures not doing us any favours but we really need to step it up and beat teams likeWimbledon and Gillingham.

And Bostwick

And Morell. Missing our best two CM players and one who can play a good strong holding role in CM if required.
If we were to lose to Ipswich on Wednesday do we have two free weekends or will the Bolton match be arranged for the 1st. It would in a way help with time to recover from injuries and better fitness levels for the likes of Pett and Frecklington.
Obviously would prefer the win and the extra bunce.

Morrell playing well for Wales. Watching on S4Cnow Just had a great shot gaining the corner that Wales scored from. Hopefully back for Wednesday.

Maybe, but it’s a short turn around for them to Saturday. I’d be really surprised if they don’t play quite a few squad players again.

Morrell still on international duty, Wales play again Tuesday. He’s just gone close with a long range shot and Wales took the lead from the resultant corner.
