Morning TMT! Not sure what to make of this one: not as hard as Sat in theory but Crewe are no pushover and we seem to be starting with the inevitable injury niggles. Time to see what the squad as a whole can do!

Come on you Imps......

Agree a point would be a good result. Games coming thick and fast, and Crewe an expansive side so could be very open.

Another tough one.
This can be pinned to every matchday thread - they'll all be tough, either against teams looking to compete at the top end, being skilful, well organised and competitive - such as the brilliant Ipswich on Saturday - or scrapping at the other end and trying to be hard to break down.

Crewe have settled in well, their manager saying defensively they're improving, so a different proposition to Carabao match. As, indeed, we will be. A point would be good.

I'm thinking a 2-1 defeat today, especially if Montsma and Bridcutt are out. Crewe are no mugs.

Crewe with same record as us over last five matches (W3 D1) and a mean defence, but have struggled a bit in front of goal - will be a close game.

Elsewhere - just seen Scunny have EIGHT positive C-19 cases with another ten needing to self-isolate. Three games immediately postponed including tonight's Salford game, and presumably no training for a fortnight. They really are struggling and may now be playing catch up at foot of the table.

Crewe did a good job on Donny. I feel this will actually be our toughest game of the season. More than happy to bring a point back from this one.

As for Scunny. Genuinely feel for them at this time. Goes without saying that I hope all recover well but being three matches behind the rest will be a mountain to climb.

Scunny have only announced the three league games up to next Tuesday, but they and everyone else also run the risk of forfeiting the FA cup as many non-league teams already have (think Boston United had to?).

Yes you would expect Scunny to now be out of the cup.
Lincoln Utd also forfeited and Notts County.
These forfeits could keep happening in later rounds too of course if virus situation continues (and no sign that it won't).

A point keeps us in it but a win would be a huge statement and a big confidence boost ahead of a tough match on Saturday.

Also just seen that both Lincoln and Ipswich have been charged with "failing to control players" with what happened after the red card. Probably a small fine of some sort eventually, but can't imagine any unnecessary money going out is helpful at the moment.

You know how Crewe are going to play, which you'd think will suit us but I've always been wary of Crewe when we've played them because they have the same way of playing but you never know what you're going to get from them. They either seem to be not quite at it or unstoppable.

Looking forward to seeing the teamsheet. Like most I'd take a point, but three would be very nice indeed.

Blimey it was handbags at dawn. They probably have bigger rumbles at a pacifists punch up.

Really? I thought our players were relatively restrained considering the tackle
