"We could hurt Blackburn with that on the break.":

3 things we need to do to beat Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers Had Better Beware, The Imps Are Coming:

The Glam Rock sounds of Sweet’s Blockbuster were dominating the charts when Lincoln City last made the 250-mile round trek to Blackburn, but 45 years on and the Imps will be eyeing a notable Carabao Cup scalp when they finally make a return journey to Ewood Park tonight.

"We were big Lincoln fans that night and when you knocked them out of The FA Cup.":

Ahead of tonight's match, we have done a Q&A with a Blackburn Rovers supporter. Thank you to Jim for taking the time to answer our questions!

Free hot tonight, we need to bat clever tonight. I would still look to utilise the squad ahead of a big game against Exeter on Saturday.

We have nothing to fear, our record against Blackburn Rovers is good: 10 wins, 3 draws and 6 losses in total.

For August the record is superb: 4 wins, 0 draws, 0 losses.
Goals For 18, Goals Against 4 !!!

We never lose to Blackburn in August; right now they will be quivering in their boots.

Well, I'll be up in the Wrong Part of The North tonight (NE) so will probably be relying for updates on here.

Think it has been said elsewhere that Blackburn are likely to make a lot of changes. I think we too could do the same. Maybe a start for Luque and Slocombe between the sticks. With Rheady up top?

Time to invoke the spirit of 1953 when we inflicted Rovers joint worst ever league defeat 8-0 !

Port Vale style changes, please! Exeter far more important.

We didn't do too badly at Port Vale. DC already said he's prioritising the league, so I think that will be the intention. Still capable of surprising Blackburn of course.

I wouldn't be busting a gut in this competition. If we do well, then all the better, no regrets if we go out. Prize money is very poor, none of the big clubs take it seriously, even less so than the FA Cup. You aren't going to see Kane or Pogba down at the Bank in this competition. I would treat the Checkatrade more seriously. Look to the Exeter game as priority this week.

Tad disappointed cannot get tonight. 25 minutes down the road from me and a ground I've not been to. Unfortunately my good lady requires nursing. All will be forgiven when she is fully recovered and we draw Man City away in the third round. At least I will get a different perspective on the match from Radio Lancs.

Slocombe debut? Crookes debut? Anderson right wb? Wilson and Shackell with Crookes?
McCartan to return? Chapman to start? Rhead Green and Luque up front? Some of the youth team on the bench?
Most importantly none of these getting injured.
Toffolo and Pett could be the only starters from the weekend.

our managers have been waiting their whole lives for chances like tonight. they have played 4 games in cup competitions at this level. ever. a chance to test their progress, and maybe add to the cv.

and we supposedly have a squad of players all capable of performing to about the same level. anyone that comes in should be busting a gut to prove that, and earn a place in the exeter game.

the financial benefits are not just prize money. still a relative long shot but a *big* third round draw would bring in sizeable gate money, and/or tv money.

'free hit' - i really dislike what that phrase infers. we will have planned over the summer for this. and will be taking it very seriously.
