Match Thread at Posh

In the whole scheme of things that could be the result which turns the season round.

Given all the injuries, a dreadful away record up to now, never mind we are playing another team in the bottom 4, that has to be a big confidence boost and something to build on even though it wasn’t pretty.

New Manager Bounce? For sure. I expect Evatt demanded that and will expect even more over the coming weeks.

A positive start…

That was dire. I know, a win is a win, but the only reason we won is that Peterborough (somehow) were worse than us.
Hamilton, Fletcher AND BPF are absolutely shite and not worth a cent. Terrible excuses for 'footballers'. We need to claw our way back out of this mess sure but sticking with the same shite ain't going to do it. Blood some youngsters, some with drive and enthusiasm. I know our injuries list is long but please drop people who are either simply not good enough or who don't want to play for the shirt....

Don’t forget we are down to the bare bones (of fit and experienced players) Bob and I’m not sure Evatt will throw the youngsters in at the deep end. Maybe in the cup next week?

I’m sure as the weeks ho by we will see who Evatt rates and I’m sure certain names you mention won’t make the starting 11 when others are back fit. I agree with what you say too.

Sometimes it takes a scrappy win to restore a bit of confidence and we are in a better position now (albeit still precarious!) than if we had lost or drawn.

It’s a forthright until the next league game so Evatt will have a bit of time to build on this win. Will be interesting what sort of team he puts out against Scunny. And hopefully the likes of Honeyman and others will be back soon.

Baby steps as Evatt quite rightly says. But for now time to be positive…

Hamilton and Evans were the worst in the group today.

At least you're not moaning about Evatt!

We'll take the win, gladly.
Scandalous we didn't have a single point on tbe road just a week shy of 3mths in to the season.
Im nit a fan of that playing around oyr box. Trying to lure them.up before passing it out long. At least he had some form of a high press.
Fletcher to his credit worked hard, at least we pressed higher up thecpitch.
He'll play the kids next week, may bring Honeyman to start for 45mins,and some players trying to improve fitness, get minutes in.
Ironically Baadiff up as the next league game.
As Lakes said pleased he has a fully 2 weeks to get them prepared.
Onwards + Upwards

Great day out. We don't often win at PUFC, in fact the last two trips have been more than disappointing, thrashed in both.

Far more energy across the team and a manager encouraging the players. He was keen to get the ball forward rather than the tip tappy around the box and then fight for it in their half which worked well.

Seeing Fletcher move yesterday was odd but better still competing in the air too. Even Bowler won a header - AMAZING. You'd think we FLetcher, Bloxham, CJ plus the central defenders we'd be a real threat on corners - well I would think that. I also think our centre halves need to score more. Horsfal scored 9ish last season for example, you'll have to go a few years back for a defender of ours to score so many. From what Evatt has said you'd expect that to change but perhaps defending corners better is a bigger worry. Did you see a bit of imagination on set pieces and corners yesterday, I wonder if Banks is still in charge of them?

I'd like to think Sexy is wrong about the cups, incl next Saturday as we will be safe in the league but no chance of going up so let's have a cup run.
