The Voice of Footballing Reason, Martin Samuels, once again calls out Jurgen Blabbermouth Klopp for his assertion that City are one of a group of four clubs responsible for transfer fee inflation.
Pressed about the dippers lack of substantive activity in the transfer market, Klipperty reverted to the standard media narrative that City are are root cause of stupidly big transfer fees -
“But we are not in fantasy land where you just get whatever you want. It looks as if there are four clubs in the world who can do it constantly...’......and he then proceeded to name City among that group.
Samuel goes on to undermine this BS by highlighting the publication of ‘contextualised financial evaluation’ by Play Ratings during the summer which shows that the biggest culprits were the Old Guard in Serie A. He also points out how City don’t have a transfer fee in the top twenty and how Rodri’s fee is still shy of that the dippers shelled out for VVD and The Beard.
