Marinakis entitled?

All the artwork on the walls is his own. And it's all shite
Art is subjective.
The piece we can see has generated a reaction from you. Reactions from art can be wonder, happiness or rage. This is art's purpose, so it's done its job.

I agree with you though. As Brian Sewell famously once said, ''What a bunch of utter fucking shite'.

sadly - i never felt it was going to work redeveloping the ground - too many obstacles. it would be very sad to walk past the city ground and see apartment blocks in its place.
But would you be tempted to buy one…?

I know several people who have lived in the flats on the old Highbury because they are Arsenal fans. It is a bit of difficult estate- agent spiel- "Why not live in the World Famous City Ground, overlooking the River Trent, in the upmarket neighbourhood of West Bridgford........... and The Meadows."

He did talk about getting the fans involved in the decision making around the WFCG.
Maybe everyone could tell him to fuck off with his Toton idea and choose somewhere better?
I don't think he's going to want to piss absolutely everyone off tbh.

I think he has already made his mind up - probably with Tom’s help. The idea of a complex is a sound one in fairness but it does pretty much say that the City Ground’s days are all but over.

Yeha probably.
Money is money after all.
I'd like to think he might listen if the strength of feeling was enough and not just rooted in not wanting change, but rather better change than what he wants to do. I'm probably wrong tho.

Develop Toton as the world class training base and the ground somehow in the city

I’d even take ground sharing with county if their site had more space and potential

He could always have the sports village without the stadium but it sounds like he wants a 40-50k stadium which is beyond what can be done where we are… 🤔

I don't know that 40-50K is beyond the current site Bash. The new PT stand supposedly takes us to 35K add an extension to Bridgford where it drops down, fill in the TE corners & ultimately redevelop the BC should take us to beyond 40K would clearly take time, but I'm sure with those additions & a bit of creative architecture it could be done

Plus some areas designated as safe Standing too

We could get to 45 by redeveloping the BC also, amd filling in the TE corners

Fair enough - I thought we couldn’t get past 40K on the current site. From Marinakis’ point of view I think it’s the time thing that would be the issue as well. He wants it done asap and our councils don’t work that way.

Currently the Forest Focus debate where Matt is Interviewing podcast hosts of Spurs, West Ham and Everton and their opinions on moving/developing their grounds.

Give it a watch. Really good conversation

Fan perspective:
What can make the in-stadium match day experience better than it is today?

That's very true. It looks like a clash of different cultures to me. I don't know how things work in Greece but I would imagine if EM wants something done then not much stands in his way. I doubt he can comprehend how a few NIMBY's on a tin pot Borough council can thwart his ambition so easily

i would assume that anything is possible, it just costs more or takes time. physically i think there is enough room on the current site, rotate the pitch 90 degrees and if possible buy up a few houses, which may not be popular.

maybe he can buy the waterside apartments too and create someone along hole riverside.

I am not local, so no really aware of all the local issues, boat club etc.. but surely there are options there if the council came to the table.

What is the situation with all the sports field land that is the hockey and rugby club? I assume it is all council? Maybe he could do a Barcelona and be more than a club, and bring in the hockey, rugby etc.. into the forest family and redevelop it all as one big sports club under the forest banner

a bit far fetch i know, but he seems to want to think big
