The eldest of our 3 spaniels had to be put to sleep today. Been in my wife's family for 15 years and moved in with us when we bought our house 6 years ago.
Didn't consider myself a dog person till I met my wife and now I don't know how I went so long without one around.
Gutted and my wife's in bits as she's had her half her life.

Lol.Was gonna post in here actually. Not spoken to him yet but I think my neighbour lost his pooch over the weekend who had been struggling for a while mobility wise. Saturday he put a little display on his drive, some potted sunflowers, framed pic of his pooch. His way of telling us all she had gone i presume.![]()
Silly bastard lolLol.
I saw the owner, my neighbour, yesterday. After seeing him with said , evidently not dead pooch!, the day before. After I apologised for thinking his pooch had passed on he explained that it was a little display for the village sunflower competition. I don't do Facebook so wouldn't know it was happening. Turns out he was confident of winning and because the judge loves his pooch he thought placing a picture of her next to the sunflowers might get him extra points. Pmsl.
How we all should mate, a full belly and a smile on our faces!I've just had sausage and black pudding with fried bread and beans, sat down at the table on the decking, and within 2 seconds, there's a big brown Labrador's head on the table. She can't see much out of her good eye now, but the nose and the tail still work. I had one bit of each item and gave her the plate; it's breaking my heart watching her die.
