Man Utd 2-0 Man City

Wow, that's a brilliant finish from Scott McTominay - 35 yards into an empty net.

Man Utd 2-0 Man City
It is a long time since United have celebrated a win like this.
It's pouring down at Old Trafford but home fans have taken their replica shirts off and are twirling them around their heads.
Sir Alex Ferguson is punching the air from the VIP seats.
It's not that long ago United fans left early as their side was falling to Burnley. No one in red wants to leave after a remarkable victory.

Old Trafford erupts
Man Utd 2-0 Man City

Simon Stone
BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Old Trafford has just gone mad.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is punching the air. Ederson probably wants the ground to open up.

It is the first time Manchester United have beaten City three times in a season since 2009-10.

'Sweet moment'
FT: Man Utd 2-0 Man City

Manchester United goalscorer Scott McTominay, speaking to Sky Sports:"That was such a sweet moment. Credit to the boys. Sticky first 20 minutes and we had to keep going.

"We will take confidence from that but in the coming weeks we have got to keep the run going.

"It's such a beautiful feeling to score like that in front of the fans. But we can’t get too carried away and need to keep pushing for the Champions League."

What was Ederson doing? He throws the ball out to Benjamin Mendy across his box. Does he not know it is raining?

'Solskjaer got it spot on'
FT: Man Utd 2-0 Man City

Dion Dublin
Former Aston Villa & Man Utd striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

United played really well. They did not go out just to not lose - they went out to win the game. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer got this one absolutely spot on. The way they closed out the game was absolutely brilliant. Manchester United deserved that win.

'Not acceptable'
FT: Man Utd 2-0 Man City

Manchester City's Bernardo Silva, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a bad game for us. Not acceptable. We didn’t start badly and were playing quite well until we conceded.

"We know how good the Manchester United players are on the counter-attack, very aggressive. So our performance was not acceptable.

"We will have to watch the game back and listen to what Pep has to say. But a team like ours cannot lose this many games. We need to check what’s not going right and try not to make so many mistakes."

'We did well'
FT: Man Utd 2-0 Man City

Pep Guardiola, speaking to BBC Sport: "We played good, we missed a little in the final third but the second half was better and it was a good performance.

"We play the same way, tried the press and defend well and we did well.

"Our game is there, we played really good in terms of coming here. They wait and did long balls on the counter-attack for Daniel James and Anthony Martial.

"We did our game but unfortunately we conceded a goal. They waited for our mistakes.

"Kevin de Bruyne is getting better, I don't know when he will come back but he is getting better."

'We played good'
FT: Man Utd 2-0 Man City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports: "We played good. We conceded a goal and should have avoided it, but in the second half we played good as well.

So congratulations to Manchester United. The quality of the opponent always count.

"We played good. Yes, we could have played better if we win 5-0.

On Ederson's performance after mistakes: "He saved one or two, he's an exceptional goalkeeper. I don't come to judge my players, mistakes are part of the game. He will recover and is an exceptional goalkeeper."

'Maguire telepathic'
FT: Man Utd 2-0 Man City

Dion Dublin
Former Aston Villa & Man Utd striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Harry Maguire seems to be telepathic, knowing where the ball is going to be to head it out of danger. A real captain's performance yet again.

'Fantastic result'
FT: Man Utd 2-0 Man City

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to Sky Sports: "The desire, attitude, commitment, connection between fans and players pleased me most.

At times we pressed them, pushed them back, we tried to be aggressive.

"We made them make mistakes and we are happy with the result.

Anthony and Bruno have hit if off. It is a privilege to be a manager of a squad with this attitude. You can't ask for more. They are going to improve as players as well.

"Those little things will come but it is a privilege and they want to listen to advice. For our players to beat a team like Manchester City is fantastic, I am delighted for them."
