Manchester City v AFC Bournemouth - Post Match reaction, debate & stats

Skoorb

Alert Team
Manchester City’s sublime run continued today with a comprehensive 4-0 thumping of Bournemouth. Fair play to Eddie Howe who opted not to try and park any buses from what I could see but to no avail - Agüero scoring twice, Raheem Sterling (again - are you watching all you hateful Liverpool fans?) and Danilo with his first for the club.

Pep Guardiola has delivered a remarkable season so far for City :021: and I am sure he will have a very enjoyable festive celebration. Well deserved it is too - we are very grateful for the football you have our team playing :001: :005:

Stats to follow .....in the meantime share tour post match it’s fellow, very merry VMCers :030:

100 PL goals in a calendar year.

Good times.

Outstanding :005:

I have just said to my youngest (City supporting) son that he he very, very lucky to be witnessing this football - surpassing even the sides we saw under Mercer & Allison.

He deserves this too as his first every City game was as. 6 year old in 1998 on a miserable, freezing night in November when we lost 0-1 away to Wycombe Wanderers in League 2 - almostthe nadir of our most recent history. He has earned his ‘spurs’ as they say.

Three of the goals, missing the second.

Love these little twitter clips :026: Thnks for posting them Colin :001:

That cross from Bernardo for the second Agüero header was a peach :021:

Here's the missing goal, although the quality on this one isn't quite the same as the others.

Fantastic result, very pleased for Kun. I also agree we are better than in the Joe Mercer era, suck every moment in because it will not last for too many seasons.

Just watching the highlights and I have to say again......Bernardo Silva’s cross for Agüero’s second header was laser-like. Absolutely pin point. Superb :005:

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to Match of the Day: "We have to learn, to improve, and attack this kind of defence and I think that is going to happen - our target is what we do to find a solution."

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe, speaking to Match of the Day: "It was a tough game against a very good team. It was always going to be difficult to cope with them.

"The first goal was our own doing and changes the game. We made a couple of bad decisions, put ourselves under pressure and they have the players to hurt you.

"Every game is important, but the next three take on huge importance for us. We have so many injuries and it's not ideal at this time of year."

That Bernardo is quite the quiet achiever isn’t he!
Goes about his business a bit like his namesake and can only improve.
