The first game of the season was a couple or so days ago and nearly a harem scarem job , but being and old school City fan I just cannot shake that feeling we are going to always 'Snatch Defeat from the Jaws of Victory' and so this Thursday we have been draw against Bournemouth who parted company with Eddie Howe in the Summer, but he will be back, and Bournemouth dropped through the trap door into the Championship, I do hope they do not drop any further, they were always an entertaining side.

City are the current holders of this title and it is another chance to get match day minutes into the legs of the players, but we are still missing a few players subject to Covid19 and injuries, The bench in the victory away to Wolves on Monday indicated how bad that was with 3 members of the EDS taking places on the substitutes bench and I we know that Pep takes all games seriously but he may play a couple of those names on Thursday.

City Team News
Pep looked a drained man after the game against Wolves and declared that the lads were tired and he would look to the Academy for this game, with 7 missing from the opening game, it is a question of keeping them fit and the ambition this season is to win the premier and in that respect Pep is trying to keep sure he has his stars for Sunday. Also De Bruyne took a kick on his ankle from Boly, so it is fingers crossed.
Doubtful - Garcia, Zinchenko, Bernardo, Laporte, Gundogan, Aguero, Cancelo.

Beat the Pep.
Steffen
Walker Otamendi Harwood-Bellis Ake
Doyle, Bernabe Mahrez Torres
Delap

Pep will take a risk with this tie with more juniors, so could go either way. Hoping for the win though.

Pep
“Against Bournemouth we will play mostly players in the academy and try to keep energy for the Premier League.

“With the lack of preparation and seven players out, we have to keep the players who played today as fresh as possible.

“We will see how the players recover. We won the Carabao Cup three times and we want to win again but we will have to see. It is what it is. We have to adapt.”

Some experience. Start for Torres.....

XI | Steffen, Walker (C), Garcia, Harwood-Bellis, Rodrigo, Doyle, Foden, Bernabe, Torres, Mahrez, Delap.

SUBS | Carson, Ake, Sterling, De Bruyne, Mendy, Nmecha, Palmer

looks like three at the back but don't know who Pep will have for the left wing-back
