China is still developing in all sorts of ways, including football but whether they will become a so called 'footy powerhouse' remains to be seen. I for one and at my time in life doubt I will see anything change and the status quo will no doubt remain in Europe.
 
Can't agree with you Fifth. No doubt eventually it will become big in China given time and if it really catches on, but the time difference is key.

 
Shanghai City has been mentioned by senior figures at the Etihad as a possible name and home for the new team. Though they are not yet ready to confirm specifics, plans are well under way.
