Yes. This seems to have passed them by. In their desperate need to find anything to pick holes with they have chosen this. It was a mistake, he should not have done it IMO, but if all officials are the same, it is no different to the many other occasions when players (wrongly) lay hands on the referee. However, by making this an issue they are drawing attention to the thing they say they are working to eradicate.
